Just bought a new LTR

Recommended Posts

Well, i did another one of them spur of the moment things. I found a dealer in Eastern Ohio selling brand new 2006 Suzuki LTR 450s for $6090 out the door. So after thinking about it for about a whole 6 hours. I called them back and got them my down payment along with a 48 month warrantee for $6700. Now i get to drive 3 and half hours one way to pick it up Saturday. I asked the sales if there was any recalls on this quad and he stated that was only certain LTRs and this one is not one of them. But as long as i dont mack a tree the warrantee will cover everything mechanical. Besides I am always good with maintenance so i dont think I will have any problems. I will still keep the banshee, and will still finish the last few things i want to do also.

    • Bike/brand of choice?

So one thing I enjoy about Quadcrazy is the amount of diversity when it comes to the bike/brand of choice.   We all hear about so many different brands/types that we need help or helping out with!  Myself ive had just about every brand bike except for a Suzuki which I’m currently seeking as my next project😜. I currently have 5 quads and they are all different in brand except for two Honda’s one of which is a newer bike fuel injected. I have to say so far through all the bikes I’ve worked on my brand of choice would be Honda! I think they make a great product!  I love the older carburetor bikes!  Now I’m sure some of the other members feel differently and I would like to hear your bike of choice and why?  Wether it be the repairs, handling, look, safety, simplicity, electronics etc!!!!!!! One of the reasons I bring this up is I have friend that recently purchased a can am new!  I asked him why a can am after all the years of Polaris?  He said it’s a nice looking bike and wanted to try something new. He has rode the bike three or four times and hated it!  So a trip back to the dealer he traded it in for a Polaris and he’s very happy now.  A costly mistake since he lost money on the can am but back to his Polaris that he said he will never stray again.  Let’s hear it !

I have a 2006 ltr 450 the starter is out on it but you can roll start it 2 days ago i rode it took a lil longer than normal to start but it started and rode just fine. Put it in the shed went to ride it tonite was even harder to start but finally got it started. When you go to hit the throttle it cuts out then it clears up and then would be fine if you bumped the throttle or was about half throttle. If you went full throttle it would bog down spit and sputter and the longer you did it would lose power gradually until it finally died. Any ideas on what it could be thanks in advance and this is my first 450 fuel injected quad

I have already owned and sold an 06 ltr450 it was bone stock, I never raced it just trails and street. Recently i have been wanting to get back into riding and also racing(xc, scrambles). I have watched a lot of racing but never came out and asked the question, yfz450 vs the ltr450. I know the ltr never rode or knew anyone with a yfz, but every race i see has a lot of yfz seems like from the racing aspect the yfzs are more popular. Is it just me thinking too much into it or is it true are the yfzs better for racing, or which one do you guys think has the better geometry, reliability, performance and so on for racing. Thanks for your input
