Hey anybody out there live near Trevorton? I have heard that they are cracking down on riding atvs at the hill climbs and the surrounding areas. Any truth to that? I'm looking to go up there in May and I need to know if you can still ride there.

Welcome to QUADCRAZY! I've never been there but heard of it. Here's a video from there I found on Youtube:

I believe that Treverton is part of RAC. If it is, then yes they are patrolling it now. You must purchase a RAC permit to legally ride their property. The local police are also cracking down on people riding thru parking lots and on roads. 16 people were cited in a 3 hour period trying to drive to a gas station. One guy got fined twice on 2 different machines.

thanks a bunch for the info. Yes RAC owns alot of ground in and around Trevorton. Do you know if there are any more permits available? We usually park at Locust junction and ride the trails to Trevorton.

Do you know if the hill climb area in Trevorton is allowing riders and parking vehicles with atvs?

The guys to ask about the climbs would be a group on Modded Raptor.com called the Coal Country Riders. I confirmed that part of Treverton is owned by RAC. If you don't have a RAC parking pass, you could be towed.

I e-mailed RAC yesterday. Due to the high interest in permits this year, they will most likely continue to issue permits past the 1000 mark.

I picked up permits yesterday, I'm #1014. Treverton and Locust Gap are indeed part of RAC. The bulk of their property is south of I-81. on the map I got it appears that they have a 15 mile long by 5 mile wide area there. The Treverton area is not all on the map, but it looks like it could be about 6000 acres there. They give you directions to a parking area in Treverton when you get your permit. You do have to display a parking pass in your tow vehicle or you could be towed.

Thanks a bunch. I guess I gotta take off from work and get up there for a permit before I get in trouble.

So many things can go wrong, while out riding, even when with others, when getting away from the group! Try to always ride with at least one other person! If your over 50 and ride alone let me know, I'll try to go with you. I know the trails pretty good, up north, around St Helen, Mi. or I'll try to try areas of the state your more accustom to. I know its too cold now, but spring will be here before you can blink an eye lol
I can ride with the slowest dude in the pack, to WOT! Get in touch before season starts for more inf. Thanks, Steve

Happy New Year all! Remember not to operate any vehicles while under the influence, you could get busted or worse, you could get hurt or hurt someone else who's playing it safe and end up in jail. Have fun and be safe.
