New to ATV's with one year experience with this ATV.

When I use the electric start, there is a rapid clicking at the starter relay assembly. I replaced the starter relay with the same results. No other sounds.

The battery is good and lights work. The ATV will start with the pull cord but it is very hard to pull and is not a good option.

I guess my next option is to pull the starter but would appreciate any other input for my starting problems.

Thanks.

Usually a relay clicking indicates insufficient voltage to the starter. Is it the original battery? if so, it's time to buy a new one.

The starter uses more battery than anything else- the lights could work fine but the battery may not have the guts to roll the engine.

try jumping it from a 12 volt battery- if it starts, it's the battery.

It could be a starter, but more likely it's a battery. They usually last 4-5 years.

No problem, we are here to help one another, anytime you need anything, we will be here.

When I bought my LTR, my dealer recommended that I put the battery on a trickle charger overnight every month to make sure that every thing stays fully charged. I don't know why that would be necessary if you ride it alot since the alternator keeps the battery charged, but if it sits for long periods, then it is probably a good idea.

Hello, I have a Yamaha Bruin 350 from new about 6 years ago and it has worked perfectly until now.   When I try and electric start, there's a clicking and it doesn't start;   it will start okay with the pull starter but I find that is very difficult option - it's very hard.    I bought a new battery and the problem persisted (so I returned the battery!).   The clicking comes from a small plastic box area near the battery.   Any ideas?   Richard

I am unable to find a wiring diagram for this UTV.  When I turn the switch to on, the contractor does not engage.  The Brake pressure switch and the parking brake switches work correctly. What else should I be looking for?  All of the diagrams I have found are for newer models and the wire color coding is different.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks
