I have a bit of a problem with my quad. I recently had work done to it. I replaced the starter and voltage regulator had my carb replaced and crankcase oil changed. A week ago I took my quad into the bush, and went through some water and mud......for the most part it was great, doing what a quad should do. As I continued throught this "slew" and about 4 - 5 minutes of this great quading ....I started to slow down and it seemed like my rear end was slipping! As I "gunned it" to get out of this mud and water hole (8" - 10" deep) i looked behind me and saw what appeared to be smoke .........not steam but a smoke! It was coming from the rear chain drive around the rear axle! I continued to crawl out of the water and mud trail and on to dry land. After I got onto the dry land I was able to get traction again and no slipping occured anymore. What could have caused this? PLEASE HELP.:aargh:

I don't think anything was slipping, if there was actually smoke coming from the rear end, I would guess that your axle bearings are going out. If there was actually something slipping, it could only be becuase of stripped splines either on the sprocket hub, wheel hubs, or the axle where those 3 things are mounted on it.

Agreed, clutch or belt slippage is way more likely than rear end slippage. The belt could have just started slipping a bit when it got wet, and when you got out of the water, started to grab again. I would definately take Gearheads advise and take a peek at the drive belt and clutches, they are easy enough to get to.

As the title says, I've got a crankcase full of fuel / oil to deal with and figure I'll just start from the top and move through the system.  Going to start with a rebuild of the petcock and then the carb if the problem isn't fixed with the petcock rebuild.  I figure I'll go with a Moose kit unless others with experience recommend another brand (All Balls, etc.)
      Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

      Good Morning!
Has anyone had a problem with the small aluminum 90 degree elbow popping out of the valve cover and blowing oil all over the place? It looks like it is simply pressed in and will most certainly repeat the offense. Any experience you all can share with this issue?
      Thanks in advance.

I have a 1997 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4. It used to start right up. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't crank. I have a schematic for it so I started tracing the problem. I had no power at the starter solenoid. According to the schematic the power comes from the neutral switch and through the starter circuit cut out relay. I cannot locate the cut out relay on this machine.. If I apply power to the relay it will crank with the start button.
The neutral switch is hard to get to with all the brackets on this thing. I did find out from all my research that if I apply the rear brake lever it will start.
Does anybody know if the cut out relay exists and where it might be found?

Hisun 700 EFI. Replaced TMAP sensor had broken off . Fuel pump pressure 41psi. The only way I can keep it running (and runs fine) is to close off fuel return line.
