I recently purchased a lt 230. I knew it had issues but was a clean looking bike.So anyhows.Iam having poor idle ect. When running the engine has no knocks or pings gong on but seem to be have air fuel problems.Almost like it taking in air somewhere and cause high then low revs and slight popping noises.Iam no rocket scientist but did try to troubleshoot the issues.I started with basic airfilter check.Upon inspection the foam airfilter had just crumble by the touch of my fingers.Needless to say its in the garbage now.So next i went into the carb.Had smalls junks of rust sitting in the bottom of bowl.Previous owner said it sat outside for quit some time.Anyhows i check the carb for any clogged fuel and or air passages. All seemed good actually. Now back to when i removed the carb from airbox and cylinder intake.I removed the throttle slide cable from carb and disconnected fuel line from pitcock valve. So next i was getting ready to remove the starter cable from the cap starter plug that screws down into an area on the carb.Needless to say it came loose without have to remove the cap starter plug.So i was like.hmmm???? So i was like what the heck is this cable suppost to hook up to.So i decided to pull up schematics on bikebandit.com.It shows that it hooks to a plunger in the carb there.Well, i never seen no plunger.MISSING..LOL...Could this be my issue? And what does this plunger and manuel cable actually do? I would think without this plunger in place that it could be the air issue i was thinking i was having.Any feedback would be awsome! Thanks

I sorta figured that was a chock.Thanks. But then what is the other plunger assembly that goes in from the side ( black knob? ) which also looks like a choke. And how do the 2 work together. Or are the 2 just two different method options of choking the machine? The side plunger appears to me to almost touch the spring of the starter cable and or other plunger i was refering to in my first post.

I found a link lastnite on the carb.http://sites.google.com/site/suzukilt230svault/help-how-to-s/carb-tuning....very helpful link.I ordered a carb rebuild kit from ebay and ordered a starter plunger (choke part) of bikebandits just this morning. The plunger has to be the problem surely. As of now it runs crappy and engine runs hot or ( lean ). I will get back on my post in about a week and let you all know what happens...Wish me luck! lol..

I rebuilt the carb on said machine. When I hook up the auxiliary gas tank it runs fine and everything is cool. When I put the fuel tank on and hooked up the lines, it completely flooded the cylinder and even about an inch of fuel in the air box. I'm pretty sure that it comes from the little hose on the petcock and hooks to the top of the carb. WTH is that even for? I mean the thing runs fine on the auxiliary tank, so idk And on the petcock when it's in the "on" position, I get no fuel. The petcock from the bike I took it apart and checked out how it operates. The sharpie marks indicate how it really works. Now the other petcock w/o the sharpie marks is an old one that was leaking that I removed from a Polaris quad. It's exactly the same thing, except the small hose and nipple have been removed. I'm so confused, LOL

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I am new to  this forum and I am happy to be here.  I purchased a Yamaha 350 Big Bear without a title and I cannot find a Vin number to find out what year it is.  I am hoping someone here can help me identify this atv. I checked on the main frame near the front A-arm left side found nothing.  I checked up near the radiator and found nothing.  Where else should I look?  See image below.

I'm currently working on an 04 Suzuki Eiger 400 and ran into some issues. Main issue being it's really hard to start. Once I get it started, it runs bad. Sounds like it's missing, which I'm pretty sure is an idle issue. It's not my 4 wheeler. I'm working on it for a buddy. Someone started working on the original carb and 2 jets were missing when I got it to work on.
So, I ordered a new carb. To get it to run, I had to adjust the throttle screw on the handle bar almost all of the way out. Even doing that, it still sounds like it's bogging down and missing.
I did put a gas filter on it, which I'm questioning whether or not that's the issue and it's not getting enough gas like it should. The petcock only has an On, Reserve, and Prime option. It also has 2 ports. I guess I have the hoses hooked up right. There's no way to shut the gas off completely, and also it looks like there's no gas getting thru unless I run it on Prime. Reserve drips gas. I'm going to take it apart today and clean it. I'm also going to take the jets I need out of the new carb and put in the old one.
I don't know what all this person did you the 4 wheeler before I got it. There's odds and ends missing that I've noticed so far. What else can I try or look for? What could be the gas issue with the carb and petcock? The carb was completely off the bike except hanging onto the throttle cable. The diagram I found for the carb doesn't help me with hose placements. Any help, or questions would be appreciated. I can attach photos if it would be of help.
