Been scanning forums on this issue. Noticed recently that the cooling fan has not been cycling on like it once did. My oil temp light is not coming on (it is working in the test mode when you turn the key switch on). The ATV does not get submerged in mud or water. It primarily ride fire roads and our local gravel roads. I do plow with it and gave it a workout this winter. The cooling fan fuse is good, there is nothing in the fan and the blades turn freely by hand. I assume it is either the fan switch or the fan. Can someone describe the procedure for applying 12V directly to the fan to test it. Do you disconnect the blue connector between the fan switch and fan and do it there? If so do you need to connect + and - to the pins in the connector or just +, I am not sure how to do this and do not want to fry the fan if it is good. Any advice on how to test the fan is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure if there are two leads to the fan, just hook up your positive and negative. If they are reverse teh fan will spin reverse. I think...that is. I don;t have a wiring schematic on this. But if the fan does come on but not cycling when it should, it might be the switch.

Got it. The fan cycles so that is a relief did not want to spend the cash on one unless I had to. Ill try to ride it a bunch and see if it comes on. Certainly if the oil temp light comes on Ill know for sure. I just remember the fan coming on a fair amount. The bike only has 437 miles on it and I bought it new. I guess it is possible that the engine is not producing as much heat now that it is semi-broken-in?

Thanks!

I recently changed my cooling fan and fan switch on an 05 Suzuki Eiger. It wasn't all that hard to do. I took off both right and left inner fenders and was able to get to evrything easily. The electical connections just plug together. I knew that the fan switch was bad and the fan had bearings were getting noisy.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.
