Every so often i check out used 400exs. All the ones in my area are more than 2000. Most going for 2500+. Is the 400ex becoming a collector item or are new atv prices that expensive that no one wants them. Early in the year the price for a 400ex (used) around here was 1200-2000. Why the big jump?

Maybe its just because the economy is getting better, i have noticed most used quads are going for a lot more around here as well. A 450r that used to go for 2200 is now 3000 or more..

And the new quad market is going down i think. Before i bought my 400ex i was gunna buy a 2010 yfz450r for 6999 in march 2011. My buddy went in there and asked about it(same one is still there) and he can have it for 5500. Are they just clearing for new inventory or just not selling new ones. Im not familiar with atv dealerships.

The dealer i go to had quite a few used atvs and those are gone including the can ams and yfzs. I did note that both dealers have a surplus of china quads that are still there

...not to mention 400ex's are bulletproof.....I just sold my 2000, well, you can't really call it a true 2000 model because its got parts from every year on it......but anyways, I sold it for $2500 with a ton of aftermarkets on it....it seems like someone's always looking for a 400...I only had it for sale a week!!!!!!!!!! They came with cash in hand to pick it up, pink frame and all : )

Thats how i bought my 400. The guy said 1500 and I said sold i didnt even start it or drive it yet. It has alot of aftermarket parts on it so i didnt have to do anything.

Still searching for a +4" swingarm for less than 500 though! I dont think they make one :-$

used quad prices have gone up some ... but i think it because of people wanting to get as much for them as they can ... they price them higher so that they have a little room to negotiate ... there for it seems they are higher prices go up slightly near christmas and will fall after ... then go back up around tax time .. then fall in early summer the go back up when it really nice then fall again in the fall ... i buy and sell atv's alot and know the yo yo of prices ...

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

1st problem, Does anyone know where I can find a stock carb for my Timberwolf, I have tried two different aftermarket carbs and they both suck. The machine runs great until it gets good and warm, then it keeps stalling unless I feather the throttle. it will even stall while I'm trying to go from 1st to reverse or vise versa. I took it to a buddy of mine who is a bike mechanic for years, and he told me try to find a factory carb. When I look online from dealers it says "NOT AVAILABLE" anyone have any suggestions ?

2nd, The small tab on the rear axle for towing is to short for even pulling my small yard trailer, I can't even turn a little bit and hit hits. I tried making an extension which worked great as far as length, but it bends the tab and then the extension drags the ground. I have an idea of what to do to fix it, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and see how you solved it.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.
