hello to all...HI...

well im new to the quad scene and now im lovin it. i just got a 97 honda trx 300ex. when i got it,it ran ok. so ive put in a carb kit, spark plug, new rear wheels and tires adjusted the clutch but it still feels slugish..why??? i know im new to this but damn!!!

my next step is to rebuild all the gaskets on the motor as i do leak oil.and i seem to have a gass leak somewhere. can someone help me out and point me to the right direction???

also, is there anyone in the area close that knows of good ridin trails round here??

Is it all stock meaning no aftermarket pipe, air filter? You said you rebuilt the carb if you have an aftermarket pipe , performance air filter stock jetting won't work and it will not run like it should. You said it ran ok when you got it is it running worse now after the work. How did the old spark plug look & have you pulled the new plug back out and checked how it looks. A plug can tell you alot about how the motor is running. Rich or lean , burning oil etc. A compression check would help too & if the motor checks out ok I would look into the clutch if the clutch is slipping thats where your losing you get up & go. What are you comparing your quad too to say it feels sluggish it's self from how it ran when you got it or form other quads?

hey there...hi...

all is stock. i know this quad has seen better days.the slugish feeling is from what it was to now. so many carb issues. again, im new to this . dont know how and what to do to it.and now i think that starter is going.today i ran it to see how the carb kit helped. and it broke down again. the throttle body came loose. i fixed that and it drove for bout 10 minutes and it turned off again. now its getting too much gas. what a head ache...

I think I would do the compression check before sinking in money trying to fix it. If all checks out good then it may be worth getting a carb. Some carbs can be beyond rebuilding. I went thru the same thing on a Honda xr100 I ended up getting a Mikuni carb for for 38 bucks new but now I have other problems it jumped time. So it seems to have turned into a money pit. Good luck and lets know how it goes.

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

Has anyone else had an issue on older king quads where the oil would leak from the top of the head (due to a failed gasket) and drip onto the hot exhaust? Mine got so hot one time it caught fire. Just wondering if this is a common issue, as I've seen the same thing happen on multiple bikes that were the same model.

My 2014 750 king quad stalls sometimes when I touch or turn the handlebars, the problem has gotten worse,my machine has 475 miles and is only trail ridden,I have a new factory battery and i have 14.2 volts when the quad is running and 13.3 on the battery when not running, also using a multimeter there is no change in volts when turning the bars until it does stall,If I pull the 40 amp power steering fuse it will not stall.......I've been told its the ECU,Hate to buy one if thats not the problem, but its kinda leaning towards that,,,,,need some opinions.
