I have a 2009 Can Am 400 Outlander and I went in the mountains for a ride and my bike stalled 3 times. It would start again immediately, then it would let me ride for 1/2 a mile and then stall again. This repeated itself until I got down at a lower level closer to sea level. Then the bike was fine again for the rest of the day. I purchased a service manual but no troubleshooting topic in it to cover this issue.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem with this model bike. I hunt and fish that area and I don't need that aggrevation. So if I cant find a solution then the bike gotta go.

Hope someone can help me. Either post a solution here or email me at [email protected].

I wish it were a carburetor but its efi and that makes it a nuisance because now I have to fool around with dealers.

I do not like these newer electronic they are putting in bikes. Was a lot simpler when it was a carb.

I emailed Bombardier and they did reply but not with a negative email. Basically, all they said was take it to your local dealer. Now these people need to understand not everyone that purchase these products have a local dealer to go to. My nearest dealer is over 3 hours away and they are only opened mon to Friday and I work during the week, so where am I gonna get the time to take it there. Not only then do I have to pay their exuberant rates I now have to lose a days work also. I have been repairing ATVs now for over 20 years and ive never had this issue before. Computers are good but in this case they are a pain in the butt. I cant even remove "maintenance soon" info off without having to take it to a dealer. That sickens me. Something so expensive to do and its so simple if they had it styled in a way that an individual can reset this when he does his own service. Which is in my case and I am sure thousands of other guys do their own service as well. Dealer scam if you ask me. This bike gotta go. Hello Kawi how does your bikes measure up these days?

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.
