2006 Suzuki Quad Sport 50cc - Won't Go

I just bought a 2006 Suzuki Quad Sport 50cc for my kids, it cranks up with no problem but after riding it for about 10 minutes it just stops moving. It still runs, but just won't move! When I lift the back end up the tires spin but when I put it down it won't go. Can anyone tell me what to try?

there may be an inspection cover for the drive belt, sounds like thats where i would start first, maybe a cheap fix of a worn out belt ...

Agreed. Sounds like a slipping belt. Did you happen to notice any burning belt smell or smoke?

Possibly, we took it apart today and before putting it all back together took it for a run and I did smell a little something, I thought it was probably the box the battery sits in since it was near the tail pipe, but it could have been the belt. There was no smoke. Where is the belt located and do you think someone who has never worked on these things could do it?

the belt is pretty easy to change, sitting on the bike it should be on your right, behind the engine side cover
