2006 Arctic Cat 400 - Need Mechanical Help

We'll folks I have a 2006 artic cat 400 4x4, here while back the fuel pump went out and I thought it may be a bad plug wen I went to pull it out, it broke, and trying to take the easy way out I got it out with a ease out:/ we'll to make a long story short I started the bike after doing a gravity feed set up ( haven't replaced fuel pump) and it was tapping real bad, then stopped and ran perfect, then would start a lil then stop and run perfect......... Any suggestions maybe porsolin or the firing pin may have fell in ??? But why would it clear up?...... Rekon I need to pull the head? What kind of Job is that, I'm not really up to date mechanic, any options would be greatly appreciated

if you pull the plug back out, you could get the piston to the top of the cylinder head, and might be able to see with a flashlight if anything is in there, or use a magnet to fish anything out ...
