I have a 2010 kingquad lta400 I was wondering if there is transmission fluid that I should replace. it was a long winter of plowing and I am changing all fluids. if there is transmission fluid what kind should I buy?

your atv motor oil does the transmission ... make sure you replace it with ATV oil because it has additives for a wet clutch transmission ...

ok thank you!

So mine is a 4stroke 2 wd do i need atv oil

you should always use atv oil, it is different than the car/truck oil ... car/truck oil will eventually wear the clutch and transmission out. seems all the atv manufacturers have their own brand of oil they recommend, but any good brand ATV oil will be good ...

I have a 2007 kingquad 450 fuel injection. I try to start it with the hand crank and almost flip over the quad. I have taken the hand crank off and cleaned it but this did not fix the problem. I believe there is a decompression valve that is supposed to engage when pulling it over by hand. How can I check this?

      I wanted to share a successful workaround for a "no-spark" issue on a 2009 LT-A400.
This is specifically for cases where the CDI has been diagnosed as faulty, but the age or condition of the machine makes the cost of a brand-new OEM unit hard to justify.
Note: This modification compromises the factory “no-start” circuits.
On some malfunctioning CDI units the internally damaged circuitry is only partial.
Feeding full time power to the Parking Brake pin, the unit is triggered to bypass the internal fault and produce a healthy consistent output to the Ignition coil.
      The Modification
See the second diagram attached below for the wiring specifics.
      The Result:
The machine has clocked over 1,000km since this repair and is still running strong with no ignition dropouts.
      ⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING ⚠️
Please be aware that this modification compromises the factory safety "no-start" circuits.
The machine will now start in gear. The safety interlock involving the handbrake is no longer functional. The machine can move unexpectedly if the starter is pressed while in gear. Proceed at your own risk. If you sell the machine or let others ride it, ensure they are fully aware that these factory safety buffers have been removed.

I have a 94 Trail Boss 250 2wd that will not go into forward. Reverse works great but forward just clicks but won’t engage. I’ve verified the shift lever is pushing far enough so I believe I have either an engagement “dog” or mating forward gear that are likely bad. I also see a fair amount of metal on the dipstick magnet. But if I ride the machine in reverse the gearbox seems quiet with no other issues by what I hear. That said I’m in process of pulling the gearbox to see what parts I need. The gearbox has 1341124 as the model number as shown in the photo below but I can’t find any gearbox on eBay or the Polaris parts site that matches that number. Is this 94 model a year that used some special gearbox? My tag on the box even looks different than all the tags on gearboxes I see for sale on eBay. I really want to buy new parts for the ones damaged in my gearbox to fix the one I have but just doing research at this point to see what gearbox I have to know which parts I need. Anyone with experience with this I welcome some advice or direction from what you have learned. Just FYI this machine is new to me but cranks, runs and idles perfect. It’s not beat up and will be a gem when I get this tranny fixed. Thanks.

Hello. New guy here. First time 4 wheeler owner. This may have been discussed somewhere but I can’t seem to put in the right words to do a proper search. Hoping someone can help. I have a 2000 Yamaha big bear 400 2WD. There is what appears to be an oil fill hole next to the pull cord. The cap has no dipstick.  What fluid goes in that and how do I drain it?
*the other side has a dipstick for the oil. I don’t want to put something in that could cause an issue. Thanks in advance.

Do any have any experience replacing 2001 Big Bear 400 Front Differential Input Shaft bearing and seal. Getting ready to buy one but the seal and bearing are bad. Any help would be appreciated.
