What size over rings for 250 trailboss

Hello fellow members,

I recently tore down my grandsons 1995 250 Polaris Trail Boss to replace the rings. Problem is, its been bored over and now mics at 72.60 at the top, and 72.54 at the bottom. I only honed the cylinder to remove the glaze.

What size over piston and rings do you think I should use?:frown:

I agree with LT80 it should be stamped on the top of the piston.

That being said, I believe you have a #50 .50mm (.020") over piston since the original bore size was 72mm. It would be a good idea to check the new piston diameter against the bore dims. The service limit is .006" or .1524mm maximum.

Happy wrenching!

On a side note, Ive never been a rings only guy. I figure the walls are wore too so I bore/new piston/rings.

Yessir! And if the bore is out of round or not straight it would be best to bore it anyway, makes sense if you plan on getting some riding time out of it.

Although, I've had times when I was stretchin' a dollar just to ride and I cleaned up my piston and threw in a new set of rings with a hone job. Desperate measures ya know?

Sometimes you can get away with taking the cheaper way out. Other times it ends up costing you 3 times as much as doing it right in the first place! :wideeyed:

Wrench on brothers!

having an issue with the unit when running under a load up a hill or in high gear, seems like the belt is slipping, there is a clapping sound coming from the primary clutch like it releases and snaps back in. i don't think I should have a noise like that. this is a friends unit and he has already replaced the primary twice with the same result.
not sure where to look next

Hello, im looking for some input on this situation i have. My 94 Mojave has no spark, and i have no idea what it is. Ive replaced/tested the magneto, the pickup coil, cdi, the ignition coil. Even the key and Killswitch. I haven't tested the harness its self, but i have tried another harness and still nothing. The only thing i can think of is the fly wheel itself. I have found a lot of metal shavings in the fly wheel and have cleaned it the best I could. But nothing happened afterwards. I am truly stumped here and hoping some of yous could shed some knowledge/ideas that could help get this thing to fire.

Hi, I am having issues with my TRX350D fuel pump.  It suddenly stopped running so I have replaced all the fuses and cleaned all the terminals.  I have fitted a new pump, fuel cut-off relay and rectifier.  Still nothing!!  The pump runs when attached to a battery.  The engine will start on the choke and the filter fills with fuel but it will  not rev and dies when the choke is closed. I have power to the relay but nothing at the pump black/white wire when cranking the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here would be very much appreciated!!

The stock driver seat cushion is separated at a seam. I took the seat apart and found that the material has torn and cannot be re-stiched. I'm trying to find a replacement seat. Any suggestions? Hoping for a used seat but couldn't find one on Ebay.

      Hi,
Got a Big Boss produced 2016 YM 2017 that gives DTC 520 285 2 (random)
What I understand is correlation code for brakesensors, very little information in workshop manual.
Removed front plastic to discover that no connector was mounted on the brake pressure switch!?
The only "brake" information seems to come from the micro switch at the brake lever.
Does anyone know if Polaris does anything special on the 6x6 or had this issue?
