Nice... congratulations and best wishes to you both.

Damn... My son is racing the weekend before and the weekend after. Don't think I'll be able to squeeze that in. If something changes I'll post up and let you know. Any idea if there's any campsites still available?

I am trying to figure out what quad to get my son. He has outgrown his Predator 90 and he wants a blaster but I am thinking about getting him maybe a 250 or 300 4 stroker.
I'd take a good look at the Raptor 250. Sweet looking bike thats a sport quad from the ground up. Not a ute with sport plastics like the trx or the ltr.

Unless you get one of the few 450s with reverse, I highly recommend a 400 to a female. Before the girls try and rip my head off let me explain. Have you ever gotten a 450 stuck in some sticky stuff and try to lift the rear end out? Have you ever been on a shelf road that decides to end quickly? It is not that easy to lift the rear end up and turn it 180 degrees. I'm 6'2" even with that leverage on the machine I'm completely winded sometimes after moving it around by hand. That is why I recommend a 400 or something with reverse. Most of the 400s can hang with the 450 until late 3rd gear or early 4th.
True dat! I love my 400ex, reverse is invaluable for an old guy like me, and with a pipe and jets, it's got plenty of power . Granted, I'm not a girl, but some of my friends would argue that I ride like one.

Thats not much more than a 400ex weighs with fluids. They're all gonna weigh more than a 300 but you probably won't even notice with all that extra POWER!!!

We were riding near Strawberry Valley, a little past Brownsville. It was my fist time up there and I didn't drive so I wasn't paying to much attention to what hwy we were on. I live in Tracy, about 3 hours away.

Hmmm... no replies since Friday. Guess the honeymoons going allright!!!???
-
Is the R the new one with the aluminum frame and EFI? All it needs is reverse and I'd be all over it.

No street machines for me. Strictly offroad. I may take you up on that Pismo trip tho... I haven't been there in forever.

i beg to differ.
Polaris and KTM are just as major as Honda.
OK how about...
Honda will be the last OF THE BIG 4 Japanese mfg with a carbureted 450.
-
Yup new exhaust and pegs too. Looks like Honda will be the last MAJOR mfg with a carbureted 450.
Fixed it!
