Thanks all. It was in fact 1 1/2 inches.

I wish, the ATV is in NY and I am in Louisiana. Trying to get my tools together before I go work on it.

I guess the best thing to do is get the harbor freight jumbo wrench set. 1 3/8 - 2 inch

I seem to be having some issues downloading the Polaris Sportsman 6x6 manual I downloaded the first two sections and now everytime I try to download another section they system tells me that I have no downloads left and try tomorrow, but when I try tomorrow it says I have no downloads left. Anyone have this issue besides me?

ATV Laws and Information - By State
Dan Kroes replied to quadmaniac's topic in ATV Laws, Legal Issues, and Policing
So I live in Louisiana, no license placard is required for an ATV here. But my ATV lives in New York. I got a Louisiana license sticker for it so I could prove that it was not a NY ATV. That sticker license has been expired for a few years. As far as I know, NY won't let me be a resident without a NY license. So the question is do I need to have a current Louisiana license sticker on the ATV or can I operate it as Louisiana laws allow, without a license sticker?- 15 replies

I wonder exactly how many 6*6 s Polaris sold. Seems like I can find manuals everywhere for a regular 2001 sportsman 500. But not so much for the 6x. A few posts is worth the effort and so far the ads aren't overwhelming

Thanks Mech, I found some things called torque wrench adapters but can't find them big enough. I see the crowfoot and flare nut adapters. Not sure if the flare nut type would handle the torque or not...

Does anyone know if there is a tool for torquing the bearing nut and jam nut on Polaris solid rear axles? Seems like it must exist if factory says 150 ft lbs. What would it be called?

I would use the dielectric grease sparingly. Around the sealing surfaces. I have used it in the actual connection and if there is any kind of looseness it can make the connection fail.

1994 Suzuki King Quad 300 in 2023 - A good buy?

I would have tried to get a better price because of age and miles, but around here people are still putting around on 3 wheelers. -
Some good impact rated sunglasses will help keep your eyes!

I bought an o-ring sealed chain but have not installed it yet. The price was good....

Maybe take a look at your valve adjustment and carb float level. Is this a new condition or old?
