Just reading your post. We were up at Prentice Cooper form about noon to 4pm today. Were you alone and what color ATV? We may have passed on the trails. I won't be going back on Sunday but I'm sure I will in a short time. You're right...cold today up there!

Thanks for the help. I was doing a search last night and found the Warn 424. That's the one thing that my 2004 Rubicon was missing. Personally, I don't like the full time 4wd.....so.....here goes the money.

Does anyone know if / how you can install something to disengage the full time 4wd on a 2004 Honda Foreman Rubicon?

IRS are much smoother on trails. Big plus for an older guy like me! Seriously, I've been told that there's a huge difference in the ride. It's like all things, if you don't know what your missing...you won't miss it. You might want to try one. Honda Rincon, etc.

I've done parts of Prentice Cooper a few times and its certainly got plenty of room! In fact, if I'll be doing some 4wheeling this weekend (Saturday) with my son-in-law. If anyone would like to join us.....give a yell !

Just checking a few ATV forums and this one seems to be among the most active. Anyone in the North GA, North AL, or general Chattanooga, TN and wanting to 4-wheel, let me know. My son-in-law and I are looking for good trails in the area and always open to good, honest company.

Obviously the Rincon has fewer miles and all, but it's more $ also. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with the Foreman either. If you don't have to have a Warn winch, you can put a superwinch, etc on for $80 for the winch and $30-$40 for the mounting kit. On the other hand...... I see the Foreman is a ES - is the Rincon an AT? Also, the Rincon has IRS and the Forman has a solid rear axle. ...at least I think so. Just something to consider.

I agree with Scott. I'd go with at least a 400 if you're riding double. As far as the 4x4 I also agree with him. Two wheel drives will do a lot more than you'd think and they're cheaper. It was more of a phychological factor for me. I guess coming from the offroading in Jeeps sort of lean that direction.

I see you're in the Chattanooga area also. Welcome. My wife and I are newbies also to ATVs but my son-in-law has been on one for years. We've been to Prentice Cooper a few times and I'm looking for some more trails. Know of any? I wonder if there's a decent ATV 'club' in Chattanooga? As far as the ATV goes....I've done quite a bit of research and ended up with a 2004 Honda Rubicon. 500cc, AT w/ESP, 4wd. So far, so good. One piece of advice I'd give is to ride one with AT before you buy. Once you do I think you'll love it. I do know that a 400cc Honda got my wife and I around without any problems. Also, if you're looking for a good ATV (Hondas), my son-in-law will be selling one of his soon. ...and they're well kept. Give a yell. Thanks
