I know this has been talked about, so i did some research. After my research, i started buying parts. Here are the parts you need: 51380-HP7-A00, left front upper control arm 51370-HP7-A00, right front upper control arm 51350-HP5-600, right front lower control arm 51360-HP5-600, left front lower control arm 44615-HP5-600, front drive hubs (need 2) 53521-HP5-600, tie rods (need 2, this is just the adjuster rod, not the tie-rod ends) 51200-HP5-600, right steering knuckle 51250-HP5-600, left steering knuckle 53235-HP5-600, steering arm (connects the tie rod ends to the steering shaft) 23611-HP5-600, "final shaft", goes inside the engine, provides power to front and rear driveshafts) 40400-HP5-600, front driveshaft 44250-HP7-A31, right front axle 44350-HP7-A31, left front axle 11300-HP5-000, front crankcase cover 50350-HP5-600, front differential support bracket 41400-HP5-A50, front differential unit You also need the 4wd shift lever and the cable that connects it to the differential. there is not a part number for the whole assembly, just look on ebay. thats where i got mine. Now on to the good part, the turning of wrenches: Here is the engine before removal: after removal: front differential in position: ^^^notice the "TRX420TM" decal, indicating 2wd Here is a pic of the "final shaft", comparing the 2wd (in my hand) to the 4wd (in the engine). ^This is the most difficult part of this conversion, removing and opening the engine to swap out this shaft. However, there is a lovely video on youtube showing how to rebuild this engine and they clearly show the steps to remove/replace the rear cover and final shaft. Dont forget to remove the front cover before installing the new shaft, it will not fit thru the 2wd front cover. link to video>: once the new shaft is installed: you will need to install the front and rear covers using sealant, make sure all shims/washers and o-rings are in place in the correct locations referencing the video above. here is the right front corner mostly assembled: and fully assembled with hub, rotor, and brake caliper: I do have more pictures to upload, when i have more time i will update this further

my big bear is having starting problems. i have replaced the starter, solenoid, and battery. the electric start turns the starter motor but i still have to pull the pull start once to get it started while hitting the electric start like the starter motor isnt turning fast enough. could it be a faulty solenoid? maybe not pushing enough power to the starter motor? if so how much power should be coming out of the solenoid if i was to put a meter on it? any suggestions, ideas?

Hi, I have an old '88 LT-4WD, and it has been sitting for about 3 years. A few months ago, I re-built it, including cleaning the carb, changing all the oils, re-did alot of the electrical, bled the brakes and cleaned out the master cylinder, replaced the rings, valve seals, oil seal, and gaskets. (among many other things) It ran fine for awhile, but now it has trouble starting. For awhile it started with full throttle and the enricher down, but not even that works now. I have spend many hours trying to start it, and havent had any luck. I replaced the spark plug, (it had good spark, but may not have under compresion) I also took the carb apart again to see if somthing plugged the jets already, but they were fine. I am just baffled. Any idea's would be appreciated. Thanks! Mike

I am working on an early 90's Honda 300TRX 4WD. The problem is no spark. I have downloaded a manual but it has not helped yet. The problem is I have no voltage to the ignition coil. Any idea why there is no voltage from either the BL/Y or the G wire that connects to the ignition coil? Thanks in advance!

My Yamaha kodaik 450 4 wheel on commanded started to make a funny noise today it sounds like something scraping in the left front tire. on any surfaces in two wheel and fourwheel drive. the noise happens at random. i have taken the tire off and put it back on. and my hub is tight... i took the hub off and when i spin the wheel it builds up pressure and the makes the noise and then releases the pressure

I just recently bought a really clean 1995 King Quad (280cc) from the original owner with 991 miles on it. This is the model with the three shifters in the middle. Battery was dead, but pull started on the first or second pull each time. So today I installed a new battery, and I had no lights (no headlights, no neutral light, no reverse light) and no power to starter. First thing I checked were the fuses. BOTH of them were blown, so I replaced them (the extra fuses were still in the case, so I don't think this was an ongoing issue). With the fuses replaced, I have all lights, including neutral and reverse. I went to start it, and the starter first cranked really slow (like battery was low, which it isn't since I topped the charge off before I installed it), then cranked even slower, than just clicked each time I tapped the key. It almost started the first time I cranked it, but choke wasn't set right. I am thinking I have a bad starter, but wonder if there are any other suggestions out there. The bike was sitting indoors its whole life, but did sit for about a year without being started. Is there something that would blow BOTH the fuses (a 15amp and a 20amp)? The 20amp was working the dash pod lights and starter. Not sure what the 15amp was for. ATV runs fantastic, but I am not going to keep pull starting it. I already darn near lost a finger when I forgot to hit the decrompression switch LOL.

Hello all, just bought my first ATV today at a local government disposal auction. A buddy who knows a little about them advised me and I spent $1300.00CDN - plastic is a little rough but it seems to run well and no obvious mechanical issues. According to the auction catalog it is a 1991 Suzuki LT F4 but I can't find anything on line - I'm looking for advice about where I can find manuals etc. Also simple stuff like changing oil, key fluid levels to check and how and what should I be checking mechanically. Thanks
