I use a CTEK D250 and a solar panel for my boat (electric trolling motor...) Works great. The problem is that the charger uses a small ammount of energy. TAhat means that if the solar panel is to small there will be no charging at all, all the energy will be lost in the charger... Seen that happen on older D250s but this may be fixed now. So before trying to charge on a small solar panel, make sure that the system works as intended....

You can force start using the CTEK chargers as well. The smaller units has a hidden mode that you activate by 1. unplugging the charger for some seconds 2. Push the mode button while powering the charger 3 Wait for a second or so 3. Release the mode button for some seconds 4. Press the mode button for half a second All of hte LEDs should start flashing one at a time and you will have 14.4V On the larger units you will have this function activated in a proper way... But you cal also start the charger by connecting it too an empty battery and attching a 9V battery for a second or so.

I dont know if Kranman is avaliable where you live. I have one just like this (this one is not mine...): and its really nice to have a hydraulic crane and 8WD. Never gets stuck.

I have an old Yamaha quad that needs replacing. I use it mainly for transporting timber on my own plot of land. What is the general quality of a CF moto? Will they withstand some abuse or should I spend some more and get something Japaneese?

Anyone that has experience of battery monitoring systems that is wifi connected and that can be monitored online? CTEK has a bluetooth one but that just makes no sense (and its a piece of junk...), if Im within range I can just as well measure directly on the battery.......

Well, as for the different programs (like AGM etc.) it makes no practical difference Litium ion batterys are significantly different in chemistry but as for lead acid most of the stuff is sales related... As usual... I have looked at some Noco chargers and they are no better than anything else as long as you dont purchase the cheapest ones shipped directly from China.

I only use CTEK chargers (used to work there.,..). But NOCO and Iceman has some nice chargers.. Beware of the cheapest China knock offs, some of these units are not safe to operate...
