  1. Merry Christmas guys and gals. Stay safe and warm.
  2. I have had a Honda trx250 for many years and use it alot. I got a project Yamaha kodiak 4x4 from the son-in-law that he was too busy for. It has some missing parts that I am gathering. It does run with good compression. This site has been great for the manual and encouragement. Welcome aboard, stay safe, have fun.
  3. Thanks guys, I do like this site. A lot of good information.
  4. That's the manual I need. Now I can feel comfortable with working on it. The first order of business is the rear shaft boot replacement. Then some normal maintenance, like fluid and filter changes. Thanks again for your help. Happy trails.
  5. It looks like the one I downloaded was for the water cooled only model. Thanks for offering the correct model download. I looked and did not find the model tag. I need to give it a bath. Thanks for your help Mech.
  6. Well, so much for a quick look! I am wrong, it is air cooled with a oil cooler and a fan. It looked like a radiator and fan. This quad is covered in mud. It really needs a serious clean up. I have not found the model decal yet. It also is a five speed with high, low, and reverse. Sorry about that.
  7. I'll look it over better when I get home later today. It's up in the barn and I am at work. Thanks for your help.
  8. Watercooled, two speed with reverse. I went to partzilla and have been getting part numbers.
  9. 93 sold in 94, ok. That narrows it down. Thanks for your help. I opened the service manual and found the location for the model tag. I will get that later today. I was just going off of the Vin Info that I found to match up with a model.
  10. Hi Mech, looks like I have 400FWF? I just opened the service manual to see if that fits what I have. The vin is with JY44GBA09RA------ Thanks for your help.
  11. Hi Rob, welcome to the site. I am also a newbie that recently acquired a 1994 Kodiak 400. Together we will learn about these machines. The Kodiak has quite a following from what I understand. Good luck on your project.
  12. Hi cj138 and mech, I am following this post to gain information about the Kodiak. I have a 1994 that needs a lot of work but is salvageable.
  13. New owner of a 1994 Yamaha Kodiak 400. I just found this site and am looking forward to learning about the 4x4. I downloaded a 2002 manual but it looks quite a bit different from mine. Can you help with a service manual? I appreciate your help in advance, Robert
  14. Hi guys, newbie from Ohio. I have a 1987 Honda trx250 that I have had for a long time. It is fun and handy around the farm and in the woods. Just recently bought a used and abused 1994 Yamaha Kodiak 400 from my sil that gave up on it. Always wanted a 4x4, just could not come up to the cost. I hope to get it working with your help. It does run and move, but needs parts. Thanks in advance, Robert
