  1. I have a 2007 500 EFI that had the same problem. It was sputtering before it wouldnt start. I make sure I keep the battery charged using a battery tender. Last time out I turned the key and nothing other than the tic tic tic of the electric fuel pump building pressure, but would not start. The display wouldnot show anything, the headlights would not work. I made sure the kill switch was not off, so I was perplexed. It turned out that the PDM, power distribution module, was bad. It replaced all of the fuses, fuseable links, etc that were on the earlier modules. Checked it and was getting power in, but not out. Replaced it and bike starts right up. $450 for the repair at the dealer, but he covered half as it was a used bike with 50 hours when I bought it. He didnt have too as it was out of warranty, but he is a good guy. You'll find the PDM right above the radiator, and it is a sealed unit, supposedly cant get water in it. Hope this helps. MoDeer
