Thank you. My wife has a knack for making really regular stuff look extraordinary with a camera. The dunes are coastal so they start at sea level and go up about 200 ft in Florence. They're much taller in Winchester Bay, about 20 miles south of there.

I dont know if its true anymore but i remember in the early nineties it was easier to remove the air pump cats egr etc and tune it to pass emmisions on a gt mustang. I dont think manufacturers used to care for the state of tune of their automobile as long as the end product was clean emmisions. But now with mpg as all the rage the car has to be tip top shape too. I know cars used to get 30+ mpg in the 70s and 80s but would you trust your life in them now. The sheetmetal was so thin you could poke your finger through it. They were very noisey and had low hp.

Now a 30+ mpg car is fully loaded and weighs 4000 lbs plus has 200 hp with a/c

And a Honda Civic of today is equivalent in size to a Honda Accord of the 80's. Cars are also coming equipped with more and more power-robbing-gas-sucking-gadgets ans STILL producing more power for the same MPG as 25 years ago. That's straight up engineering and, as Mario said, consideration for the state of tune plays a big factor.

We run the Amsoil 0-40 in our 4 strokes. You should be able to find it for around 10 bucks

Hate to here that. And I don't know how many pics and vids I've seen here on QC of people riding without helments. I even seen one where a young rider had a helment & a very small child in between him and the handle bars with no helment. I have had small tree limbs hit my helment that would hurt or cause a cut if I were not wearing it.

Many forums no longer allow photos to be posted of helmetless riders. Here is a recent pic-of-the-month submission request from such a forum...

Oh, and I feel that you need to have a mod list, not just a signature, because if you cant take the time to write one up, you shouldnt be QOTM.

Mod lists may not always need to be a requirement. Not every car that wins at a car show is a custom. Sometimes the value and uniqueness comes from a restoration back to factory original condition. This would be particularly true of many of the old 2 strokes from the 80s. The nicest ones rarely have a long list of modifications. Rather, they are either survivors in great condition or restored to OEM. Just a thought from an old guy for the sake of the discussion.
