2001 quadmaster 500 over heating?

Have the above ATV LT-A500F which is used primarily in the winter months to plow snow. Seems that it is getting hot and backfires, shuts down. Will restart w/choke but dies when accellerator is pushed. Then after about 2-3 attempts it will not start. Sort of acts like water in the fuel so draining the carb did not reveal any water. When it cools down it will then restart and run fine until the next time. That sort of indicates that there is a electrical component breaking down from the heat. Had to tow back to the house today.

This happened last year and it was to a authorized Suzuki who could not get it to duplicate the problem. On that occassion we had plowed so much snow that it apparently built up to where it would not go in gear. After it thawed out it was fine.

This problem also exist in the summer months after a couple hours riding.

Anyone have a similar problem or solution?

Thanks

Have you checked your fan and/or water pump? How about the radiator, is it clogged with debris, air needs to be able to flow through to carry out excess heat. Also, check the spark plug, you may be running a bit lean, this can cause the motor to run hot. This could be caused by debris in the carb, you may need to take the carb off, disassemble and clean it really good. Good luck.

      Hi everyone.
Let me explain the thread title.
My husband and I are very active in the nudist community, and we have stayed at many and most of the mainstream nudist and clothing optional campgrounds in the USA. We are now approaching our retirement and would like to start a podcast to share those off the road / backwoods / little known camping areas where nudity is allowed. We have purchased a 5th wheel camping trailer with a rear garage for the ATV and now need some good reports on the one to buy.
We are most interested in a side by side unit but would love to get your thoughts.
Feel free to stop by and say Hi and ask anything you would like to better understand what we are looking for in an offroad unit.
Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.

Hey all back again with my 1989 moto 4 250.
After putting a new carb on it it's really sputtery, it has new gas and I'm wondering what to tune on the carb to make it idle better. I've attached a video to describe the issue more. The bike is still work in progress but I think the video gets the point across. Thanks!
