Suzuki Twin Peaks 700 front diff leak

Recommended Posts

Good Afternoon!

Woke up this morning to these pictures, how difficult a repair is this? I think this is just a seal? How do you get the driveshaft out to replace it? Sorry this is my first issue with this bike, trying to keep the cost down.

got that 220 I'm 'servicing'..........  well it turned into a guts and oil job....  I cleaned the carb and it wont idle cold, but idles too fast when warm.  also misfires and burns rich cold (white smoke out of the exhaust)  I'm going to order a new carb since the old one is leaking and beat up (some one was tinkering)  I'm wondering about the valve clearance and timing...?  Maybe a factor?   What should the clearance be on the valves?  How should I check the timing on this bike?  (this is a mid 90s bayou 220 2x4)

Take a look at this. I just ordered it. Wondering what your thoughts are ? I mainly like to get my bikes up In the air so I’m not killing my back any more.  I either build up some stuff I have laying around etc but this looks like it’s going to work out well.

I have a 2006 suzuki 700 king quad and I bought a 2 inch lift that attach to the shocks, the front works great, but only the side without the muffler fits on the back. I can't get the other side to drop far enough down to put the shock back in, almost like the axle wont let it. Anyone have any suggestions?

The saga of the fan continues.
The Pin attempt in the fan shaft failed.  I then moved on to trying to weld the fan hub to the fan shaft.  I took it for a run the weld broke.  Now it was truly F'ed.  To recap the dealer price, they want $400 + CND for a replacement fan assembly.
I searched all sorts of after market places and no one carried one.  Ebay had some used ones but they were $120 USD + Conversion rate for something as old as what I have.  I went to Amazon and eventually settled on this.

What I found... and was amazed... was that the fan mounted to the Suzuki fan assembly bracket.  I was prepared to manufacture my own mount conversions...  It also came with "Harpoon mounts" (nylon zip tie like things that go straight through the rad.   Anyways it mounted to the original bracket. It fit perfectly.  Cut the electrical plug off replaced it with the Suzuki... all good.  Let the quad heat up, thermo coupler kicked in the fan circuit, polarity was right... all was good....  Fan is under the circuit fuse rating.

so I finally have a solid fan solution.  $34 CND vs $400+ CND
