After removing the valve cover, found the timing chain off and a broken guide. Will replace the broken items and repost results

    • Outlander 450 4x4 seal blowing? This may help

Have you ever had your 4x4 seal literally pop out of the 4x4 housing on the Outlander 450?  You will want to try a simple fix to keep this from happening.  First, get the old seal out and clean the seal surface on the 4x4 unit with brake cleaner.  Take your new seal, and remove the spring.  Untwist it and clip off a half a centimeter or so of spring.  Don't clip off the wrong end!  I do this because these seals fail far too often and this seems to fix the issue.  Put it back together.  Tap seal into place.  This is where you get creative.  I was able to cut pieces of shelving metal that clamped against the 4x4 unit to prevent the seal from popping out and holding them in place with zip ties.  You can do whatever you think you can pull off with what you have on hand.  Just get something on the 4x4 that holds the seal in place on opposing ends.  Oh, and always replace the yoke o-ring.  Those never retain their shape and will cause leaks if you do not do so.  Inspect the wear ring on the yoke and replace if you can feel a fine groove where the seal rides.  Remember to use RED locktite on the yoke bolt and tighten that bolt tight as ****.  This is the one that always comes off during abusive riding.

    • 2005 Polaris Trail Blazer 250 won't start

Hi guys, trying to get a quad running again. It was running fine but the electric start did not work. My uncle was using it and the pull start snapped. So I replaced the pull start and electric starter motor. Now it just cranks and cranks but will not start. I have spark, I have fuel to the carb, I know this is a 2 stroke with a separate oil tank, what else should i check?

    • tgb blade, 425cc no spark

Good afternoon, or morning. I have a three-year-old TGB blade 425Cc
that appeared to just die. I have had ongoing problems with the battery going flat the past year, replacement battery seem to resolve it, then it started again. Therefore I've been using a much larger battery and jump leads. At the weekend whilst using it to tow a trailer (it works on a smallholding). It stalled and refused to start thereafter, checking all the fuses, including the sneaky one. They appear all to be fine. No breaks or burns, lights or work starter motor turns, information panel seems to light up and give me clear information regarding fuel and other things. Removal of spark plug highlights there was no spark, testing of spark plug highlights that spark plug works. I have looked for a manual as the general information given at the point of sale is woefully poor. I have looked online for guidance and have seen a variety of similar issues highlighting that a compilation of components need to be all replaced, whilst another person refutes this. I've checked fuel which it is three quarters full, no fuel leak or blockage appears to be in existence. Therefore with my basic knowledge, I have ground to a point where I don't know where to proceed. There does not appear to be a kill switch within the system, other than on the right hand brake lever, which needs to be engaged prior to pressing the ignition button. I am aware that the cable that is fitted into this section is adrift, and looking at it consists of two thin strips like a fork tongue, which can be inserted back into location. I am aware that this was damaged some months ago and has been adrift, so I am not sure if this is the causal factor, as it is unlikely, as until recently. Apart from jumpstarting, The wee Beastly thing was working. Does anybody have any insight. I have checked it for broken wires, damp, and living in North Devon, England. We are prone to mist, which in reality is low. Cloud as we are 750 feet above sea level. WD-40 is part of my took kit  in this location.

    • 2006 Can-Am Outlander Max 400 Oil leak After Oil Change

I had the local garage change the oil and filter in my machine and ever since they changed it there has been an oil leak. Taken it back several times and they can't figure out the problem.

my o4 polaris 4x4 lost power just going down road at 10 miles an hour . Had only been on it for 20 minutes. Engine still ran just no power. Shifted into reverse had little power. Shifted back in forward and it ran for about 5 minutes then no power again. Was afraid to drive it any further so towed it back to cabin while still running..  It had power once again for a few mintues. No smell of anything burning . Several years ago I had to replace belt becasue it did something similiar. Could it be the belt again?

Hi ya'll. I just got a 04 Kodiak 400 and Im confused. The left rear wheel moves like the bearing is shot so I figured its a quick fix. Much to my dismay when I looked at it before I tore into it ,it appears to have a drum brake-no bearing on the wheel. As this is the first time Id be working on a 4 wheeler job Im a bit hesitant. The manual only shows this has disk brakes. Its a sealed drum right behind the wheel.I pulled the wheel of expecting to find a bearing.Nope! Ive never done it before but it appears Ill have to pull the axle out to replace the bearing. Am I correct and if I am can anyone give me some advice on how to do it.The repair manual isn't much help. Thanks alot!

I have a 2003 LTZ 400 that i bought a few days ago. The quad was running fine until last night. I let my brother ride it down the street and back and i didnt notice anything etong with bike. Then my neighbors friend came over and said "can i ride it?" I said "sure" so he ripped it down the road all fine and when he got back it died right in front of us. My brother said it was dieing on him also. He also said that he wasnt using the clutch to shift. I told him he was an idiot. Im throwing that in there incase that caused a problem as well. But today i go to check it to make sure its getting fuel which it is and replaced the spark plug incase it wasnt getting spark but it is. So i started it and it was having a problem starting then i got started and was reving at idle high. So i took it around the block and it died on me a little bit down, so i try to restart it and it started so i kicked it into 1st and it kinda launched on me and started going with the clutch all the way in. Then it died right after and wasnt running right during that process and was idleing all over the place and just died and now i cant get it started it again. Before it would start without the choke or priming it. It would start real quick now i cant figure if it needs to be rejetted or something else. Air filter looks clean also. But any help would be gratelly appreciated!
