Good place to start out is at St Helen Mi. campground or Trails inn motel, both on the trail head across the street from one another, with all the amenities needed in town there for your stay like an atv parts dealership, gas. restaurants, liquor store, drug store, hardware all within a blocks distance away. From here you can head E. towards Houghton lake Mi. trail system or West to West branch or N. through Clear lake then onto city of Mio trail system. So many great places to check out along the way heading north fro there, like Clear Lake, with their Bar and grill, corner store, gas, lodging, Ambrose lk. atv campground near by, and with so many surrounding trails there too, with hill climbs! Then after leaving Clear lk. head up to wagon Wheel N. of Rose city rd. with dozens of trails scattering the hill side there called the Rose city oil fields. Then on up N. to the gravel pit for a little play time, before crossing M33 at the Pink store for gas and snacks. Leaving there to head up to Mio's Bull gap, either on the west side (shortest rout) or you can do the half Bull Gap trip through Mac lk. Campground heading N. to Bull Gap or the long way around from the Pink store traveling on the 50 mile loop that passes Bull gap on its way back to the Pink store. Make sure you take along the printable Mi. DNR atv trail maps with you, to help guide the way, along with the other areas I just mentioned, maps. If your looking for a friend to ride with and show the way with , over 50 nearer my age and interests, contact Email: [email protected] for more info. I'll be more than happy to ride with you! Thanks Steve

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

Is there a 'best in class' tool/app method to map private ATV trails? We're lucky to have some space to ride and have created many trails but can't figure out the best/most efficient method to generate a map? I've tried GIA GPS for iOS with some success, however the stop/start when trails cross over each other makes it tricky/difficult to get an accurate 'total mileage' vs. duplicate overlap.

If you like scenic trails with beautiful views and great places to stop for a snack, lunch or just to gas up then consider central Maine. As most of you probably know Maine has over 6,600 miles of ATV trails!. Canaan is in the heart of it all. With direct trail access from several lodging establishments you can head out and in several directions for a few days of riding or a week of adventures. I'll be posting pictures from some of the rides...( when I figure out how!).
Check out Central Maine Cabins, Pet Friendly, Hike, Kayak, ATV, Bike as a place to stay.
Our local club is currently signing a new access route that will be ready in a few weeks giving us a way to get to the Moosehead lake area, Bingham, Moscow, Harmony and more. Who wouldn't want to get out I95 and get on the trail sooner?
We also have had riders who have done the Translab loop on motorcycle stay and say we are a great last stop before returning home.
See you on the trails
Northern Idaho ATV Riding
Selkirk mountain range. Riding above Spirit Lake, ID.
Very scenic, not technical at all; graded logging roads, very easy riding. Very TomD friendly
Bunch of roads still snowed out, so we didn't hit everything, but we did ok.
Here are a few topo maps:
Day 1 - 15.6 miles before getting spanked by a snow/sleet storm:
Day 2 - 22.4 Miles (and getting STUCK!)
-- Where you see the label QUADS is where we left the bikes and humped it out back down to Brickel Creek LOL!!!! --
Hello everyone I'm the new kid on the block. I'm from Monterey County in California and just love the sport. I own an Arctic Cat red DVX400 06'. I usually ride at a place called Hollister Hills in Hollister CA. It's the closes place to go riding. I love the atv tracks it has, some jumps where I get some air and speed and yes go CRAZY.
