1997 Bayou 300 4X4

I just got this atv and the starter doesn't work. I can use the pull starter but it doesn't start very easily with that. Does someone have a troubleshooting process for the starter or will I have to actually pull the starter out to test it?

I would try and jump the starter to see if it works first. You could have another issue if its not the starter.

Is there a solenoid or relay I could use to jump the starter or just bypass the switch and run it to the battery?

Just go directly to  the starter terminal  with jumper cables  to  see if the starter  spins over .. If it does  then  it's time to trace the circuit out to find the  problem.  It could be in a relay, connection or  broken  wire.  I'm assuming the battery  is charged  and there's no  blown  fuses .
