Check the radiator fins. Sometimes they get plugged with dirt, dust, and mud. Wash the radiator from the opposite direction of the air flow. Not the same direction as airflow. Also Highlifter offers a bigger and better flow radiator.Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Us 3rd shifters can't see a computor screen that well, in the sun light.

hey thanks for your input, i decided to ignore my dealers recommendation and pull the water pump apart the impeller was sheared off, no coolant flowing, so i ordered the parts today, one question i have is the water pump and oil pump are chain driven, but that chain seems super loose with no tensioner my dealer didn't even have a good view of this or any specs on chain tension, i dn't know if this had any thing to do with that or what? or if i should just replace it or what, thanks again.

Not sure about that question. Ronnies mail order has some pretty good pictures on it, In the oem replacement section . Also going to PM you about some other options.

Hey Buddy

Im new to hear, but found an old article of yours.

Did u have any luck with the loose oil pump chain?? I have an 03 model with an incredibly loose chain, sounds like it skips along while trying to start.

Can you please let me know how you went, or any info on whether I need to replace, or somehow tension??

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

      Background,
This winter (Dec.) I was plowing and everything just died, just quit.  No lights, no pull start, No nothing.  I've had this problem before and I changed the voltage reg and it ran fine for over a year. Then this.  So I changed it again, thinking this was the same problem.  Tried to start it and a small pin hole in the CDI appeared with electrical smoke.
Months go by and I finally decide to just replace parts (I'm Horrible at electrical issues).  I changed the stator, new CDI, new Voltage reg, new starter solenoid, tested the starter (prefect), charged the battery.
Went to start it and the solenoid rapidly clicked.  All the dash lights on, headlights work.  Pull stared it and it fired right up no issues.  Looked into the rapidly clicking starter solenoid and it was not enough juice in the battery.  Took the battery completely out and hooked up a jump box to it turned the key, light on, everything looks good.  Pushed the starter button and it fired right up ran great.  Turned it off to test it again, Turned the key and nothing.  No dash lights nothing.  Took the jump box off and pulled started it.  Started it right up.  Re-hooked the jump box, still nothing.
      Any Ideas?

HI everyone. New to this forum. I have 98 Kawasaki Bayou 400 with an apparent electrical issue. I have the Clymer manual, but I am not exactly sure where to start. The issue started a month ago and the neutral light would go on and off intermittently. Eventually it went completely off , and I thought it was a shifting issue. I took the case off and checked the clutch and all mechanical shifting components are good, so I think I eliminated that. The switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Last time I tried, I did hear a clicking sound near where the battery is right before the light went out. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Hoping this is an easy fix.

(Question is at the end if you want to skip my blabbering) I got this unbelievably well taken care of Grizzly 350 in for a carb clean, it belongs to an elderly couple that bought it brand new in '07. Apparently whoever has been doing their oil changes for them never checked the air filter..
Obviously it got debris in the carb, it would still run but only idle with slight choke. I've taken it apart and cleaned it, have new o rings, gaskets, etc. As far as the mixture screw is concerned, I'm assuming I obviously need to remove the plug. I'm mainly a lawn equipment guy, I've worked on slide carbs in the past but never an unmolested one with the plug still intact. I hate to mess with it as the carb had very little debris but I'm sure the o ring needs to be replaced at minimum. Finally, the question: what's the best way of removing the plug? I DO NOT want to mess up this carb..
