1998 Suzuki King Quad 280 Checking fluids

Recommended Posts

Since I am new to having a quad I am looking as to how you check the oil and transmission   I have a 1998 Suzuki king quad  4wd  engine is a 280. I have found a plug at the back of it that says 10 w 40 on it. And a site glass up under front of back wheel on right side.  And looks like there is a plug above it.  Now do I put  the oil in the back plug till it starts to run out  or somewhere else to check it  site glass seems a little far from it.  Or site glass maybe for transmission.  Thx for any help

You are correct, the sight glass is for engine oil. Should be hash marks on the case for min-max level. Or just fill it half way up the circle.

The fill port is in an awkward place because it is hard to poor oil into it from a quart bottle. I used to use a funnel attached to a long tube. Wipe the area off before removing the cap. Lots grime builds up here. The positioning of the fill port could have been designed better.

Go to the manuals section in the forum to download a shop manual for your machine.

That was what I was thinking since site glass was a little bit in front of where you put oil in wasn't sure it was for oil   Have tried to download in manual section but says I have to do 10 posts on here to be able to download it. So reason I am asking questions.   Thx for the help

Hello, the ATV doesn't stop anymore so I guess it is time to replace the brakes. Looking for part number and instructions. I think it may have shoes front + back and the front would be hydraulic.

Does anyone make aftermarket engine parts for the Suzuki Quadsport LT-Z50?
      Pistons, Valves, etc...?
I have found rings and complete gasket sets.... I need an oversize piston kit and valves..
One company is selling a piston, but upon further inspection it is an LT50 piston that they are saying is for the 2006 Suzuki Quadsport LT-Z50. Yet the LT50 Piston is not interchangeable with the LT-Z50 according to the pistons listed by Suzuki.
      Any help would be appreciated

I am working on a friends 2006 Suzuki LT-Z50 that they purchased not running. I took apart the carb to rebuild it and someone had already been in there... They really destroyed the Air/Fuel Mixture opening in the body of the carb.. It is in no way repairable.
I have not been able to find an aftermarket carb to fit this model.
Does anyone know if an aftermarket carb is available?
      Thanks for any help.

My 2014 750 king quad stalls sometimes when I touch or turn the handlebars, the problem has gotten worse,my machine has 475 miles and is only trail ridden,I have a new factory battery and i have 14.2 volts when the quad is running and 13.3 on the battery when not running, also using a multimeter there is no change in volts when turning the bars until it does stall,If I pull the 40 amp power steering fuse it will not stall.......I've been told its the ECU,Hate to buy one if thats not the problem, but its kinda leaning towards that,,,,,need some opinions.
