Yamaha ATV Servo

Recommended Posts

What's someone's thoughts on replacing servo motor and not the whole thing? I've removed servo housing and removed motor but don't want to buy just the motor if its better to replace the whole thing.

Thanks

I would recommend replacing the motor vs the complete assembly. The Yamaha OEM assembly is a quality assembly and unless it's cracked or busted, I would keep it as long as possible. The motor is an easy install and much cheaper than the whole assembly. Once you replace the motor, you'll basically have a new assembly. Here is the link to the motors.

@DavidMe what year, make, and model is your ATV? I changed your topic to Yamaha ATV Servo for now, but once you share your ATV info, we'll update it to be more descriptive. Thanks.

Its a 2006 Kodiak 450

Oleblue, that's what I did. Figured I had it off and apart and that was the cheaper route to go. The atv isn't in the best shape so didn't want to sink a bunch of money in it. I appreciate the input. Thanks

Happy New Year all! Remember not to operate any vehicles while under the influence, you could get busted or worse, you could get hurt or hurt someone else who's playing it safe and end up in jail. Have fun and be safe.

And the new 300FW is already wounded. Something got in a bind and blew the whole chunk of case out around the primary drive gear at the back of the motor. In the pic you can see the crack along the top...there is a big chunk missing from the bottom. And it won't roll....but the front and rear diffs both seem fine. Unfortunate. This looks to be a bit of a project. Still feels like it will shift through gears so i'm wondering if the ring and pinion just jumped a bit and blew something to pieces.  I have a parts bike.  But will this require the case to be split and transmission completely disassembled?  I assume you can't just slide the broken primary drive out and slide the replacement in?

If you're using a click n go 2 plow system how do you like them? Just installed one on a 500 King Quad along with a set of Commander XTR tracks and I'm lovin it

So I was looking at my John Deere today and though, how could I make this cooler. So I tinted the windows. Lol.

As I got home I was staring at my Polaris and the wife’s kfx. I thought I would have to replace the crank because of piston slap on the Polaris. Turns out I just had to adjust the choke cable a tad more. Runs great.
