1990 suzuki ltf250 quadrunner poor idle

The quad starts good and runs good if the choke is on just a little. I installed a carb kit and backed the screw out 13/4 turns to where it was . Any ideas?

Once you install a carb kit (rebuild) things change within the performance of the carburetor.  Going back to the original setting means noting other then getting a starting point for adjusting.  

Do this and see if it helps:

Start the bike up and let it warm up. Take the choke off and let the bike idle.  

Start to turn the fuel air mixture screw in either direction (My guess would be out). Your looking for the engine to start to rev higher. That’s a good thing! Keep going and as the engine reaches it’s sweet spot you will know because it will start to decrease revving  if you go to far. So once the engine stops revving higher and starts to break up a little stop! Turn the screw back maybe 1/4 turn. Then you can lower the IDLE screw and get the engine to level off to a healthy idle.  

See how the bike runs after that. My guess would be somewhere around the 2 to 2-1/4 turns out would be where it needs to be.

      OK, sooo  I finally did the old skid plate and screen removal to clean out my oil sump during an oil change...  This bike only has a couple thousand miles on it.  Runs like a top still...  Very few issues over the years after buying it used.
      But boy I wasn't expecting to see this!  Piece of a circlip, stuck up in the screen, and a another shard of metal and maybe a piece of gasket material.  Nothing in the oil but that...  Pristine otherwise, and still runs like a top.  Always has.
      Soooo, is it a wrist pin clip?  That's the only thing I can think of like this that could end up in there.  But definitely wanted to throw it out to guys that have seen the innerds of these more than I have.
      The valves on this thing are still within the factory spec even.  Been a really good lil workhorse...
      Any other ideas?
