1999 Scrambler 500 Carb leaking issue.

Recommended Posts

So I bought a brand new carb that was set and everything. Put it all together and it runs and idles good. The downside is the bottom of the bowl is leaking fuel not a small leak either. I bought one previous and it was a cheap one and it leaked as well so I figured I'd spend the money and by an OEM one and it still leaks. Should I send it into the mechanic and have them adjust the float? I mean for a new carb I was kinda disappointed. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

So.. it a weird one.. The quad surges as you go down the road. By the looks of my tracks, it's one wheel only. High range, low range, 2 wd , 4 wd.. It just doesn't matter..
You can see in the pictures the marks it leaves. That was in a straight line, with hardly any acceleration.
      Any ideas?

I just saw a video on TikTok where some guy took the rear end off an ATV and bolted on a roto tiller in place of rear wheels. I wish i saved that video to post here....good thing it was 4 wheel drive...lol but, it seemed to work.
I'm not sure how he made it bolt on to the drive....

My first quad and I have a problem. I have a Kawasaki Bayou 300 1997. When I start it. It will go on high idle for about ten seconds before it goes down to low idle. It does this even when I don't touch the throttle or the choke.
Also, when I give it some throttle and let go. It will come back to fast idle for about ten seconds before it comes down to slow idle. Therefore I have to wait for it to slow up before I can shift. The throttle linkage drops right back to the stop on the carb buy the rpms stay up for a while. If you have any ideas what might be wrong please let me know. thank you Fred
