Doesnt seem to make the sound all the time. Mostly does it under load or going up an incline. Its kind of like a clunk and or grinding noise, Kind of hard to decipher. Today while going up an incline it actually stopped and it sounds like something spinning and then it ingauged again and it would move. I checked the clutches and installed a new belt before it did that also. Rear drive shaft seems ok where U joint is too. Has all new rear CV shafts and bearings and al new bushings in rear arms. Also flushed out the rear Diff with no shavings. Any ideas or where to check.

Maybe but I don’t think so. It sounds like it’s coming from the middle of the quad. It sounds almost as if like a chain popped off a bicycle when you’re writing it. It sounds like something is disengaging and then re-engaging and when disengages it sounds like something is spinning like something came off a gear or something but then it re-engages and catches it self and starts going again it’s weird

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

I pulled out my Big Bear needed to do a few things probably havent been started in a year. Gassed it up charged the battery started right up. I have been using it around the property for this and that. Went to hook up my trailer to pull up to the house while it was idling it quit. Went to start it turned over but wouldnt start. After trying a few more times lost all power. Pulled it up to the house with the John Deere, the first thing i checked was the Universal fit soloenoil from Amazon and it was only a 10 AMP fuse so it does not universally fit the big bear it should be 30 AMP fuse. At the time i remember noticing it but forgot, at the time i had other problems like wiring harness being in a box stuck engine and no spark. when i bought it, yeah i know, thats one ishould have walked away from, but if i go to the trouble of hooking up my trailer and going there, its following me home.
Thats old news, i still need to check it all out see if it lost spark and see if the starter shorted out it was acting kind of sluggish, i replaced the fuse with the spare 10 amp and blew immediately. I will try a 30 and see what happens.

2001 Yamaha Kodiak. Rebuilt and cleaned carb after sitting for 10 years. Got her runnin but now this clunking noise is happening and sometimes the engine stalls hard like the tranny or clutch abruptly stops the engine. This was not happening 10 years ago. Also the clunk will happen and the rpm's spike. See video. Any ideas before I tear into it?

Just bought the atv, sounds like there’s sand in a bearing near the clutch! Any ideas?

Hey all, I just picked up this Massimo UTV for $500. Got it home and replaced the starter solenoid which successfully got power to the starter. Starter spun but engine didn't turn over although the engine is not locked up. I thought it was a bad starter. Got a new starter put on today and it does the same thing. Pulled the clutch cover and saw the engine is trying to turn over but something is slipping and not letting it turn over. I figured it must be the gear on the engine that the starter turns. Where can I get that and can it be replaced without pulling the motor? And am I correct that that's the issue?
      Thanks!
