Hi I'm working on a 1995 Polaris explorer 400 two stroke, and I had planned to put in a new wiseco piston and rings and just hone the cylinder. I think it overheated at some point and the rings did not move freely in the old piston. The clymer manual I'm using doesn't really have much information as far as honing the cylinders on a rebuild, but I've been doing some reading and it seems that some cylinders are plated with some type of chrome or nickle plating but I'm not sure how to tell if it has been plated and if so with what. The Wiseco instructions say that their rings cannot be used in chrome plated cylinders. Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Wondering if a 2018 Polaris sportsman 570 head will work on a 450. I have a 2018 Polaris sportsman 450 and I’m rebuilding the motor in it and wanted to do a 570 top end. Or if I could use my stock head with the kit. Thanks In advanced.

Anyone know where to locate these, or generics? The generics I seem to find have the mount on the wrong side versus the hose outlet. PITA!
Also, is the rear master cylinder rebuild kit any good?

I have a gentleman that asked me to service his bayou for him. I have always wondered what oil should be used in atv engines? Pros? Cons? What weight should be used in what type of weather? Is there one kind that I could bulk buy and safely used in any quad I worked on or owned? What about performance? Engine Life? This has always been a 🤔🤔🤔 area for me with quads as far as why you would use one type of oil over another....
Thanks!
