Hi all, I have just come into possession of a 85 lt230 shaft drive but I cannot find any clutch adjuster on it anywhere.... Can someone help me out here or do I have to replace the clutch... Tia

So, I just bought this quad off a acquaintance of mine… anyways, it’s missing the airbox which I’m trying to purchase if I could only figure out the year and what model of lt230 it is due to having only 9 visible digits for a vin…guy said he had the title at one point and lost it when he moved houses after the flood of 08 in Iowa….I just desperately need to know what model this thing is so I can start getting to work on it….it does run after a good carb cleaning….I’m having trouble getting it to idle though due to essentially just having a rigged up air filter with no airbox on the bike…I’ve sanded down the plastics and it looks like the original color was orange and the seat I believe is either from a different Suzuki or it’s been painted gold and black? The plastic nose part is originally black…it has the lever for reverse by the sprocket it has a pull string to start and I think originally it has electric start as well….idk I’ve had to bypass and use a screwdriver on the starter Solenoid to get it to start …someone has definitely done some rigging with the wiring as well.but if anyone has any clue what I need to look for to identify the year and actual model so I can get the right stuff. I’d appreciate it.

1988 lt230 Suzuki Having problem with getting into neutral have to do it by hand to get into reverse keeps skipping into 2nd is there a adjustment I can do I'm new to this

I am replacing the pistons on my drum brakes for 85 Suzuki LT230GE. One was seized and broke while trying to get it moving. I am only able to access [what looks to be] the same part but for a 250. What do you think? will they swap out? I ordered it anyway and will let you know.

Hello, I'm new to the site. My son and I have decided to bring back our old quad from the dead. Does anyone know where we can purchase a cylinder kit for it. I think it's a 1986, but will have to check the VIN to be sure. The last time it ran, it was tapping and smoking pretty bad. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have this 1986 LT230GE that will not start without a shot of starting fluid. I have set the valves rebuilt the carburetor and will start after using starting fluid after it has sat idle for two or three days. any sugestions

How do I replace the pinion clutch shaft in a 1987 Suzuki LT230 quadrunner? It starts up on the first kick but when I put it in gear it wants to kick up. I can give it gas and put it in gear but my clutch lever isn’t doing anything. SOS

This is a strange question maybe. I just finished cleaning my old barn find Suzuki. I think it's a 1985. LT230 shaft drive. Started it up and other than making some carb adjustments (well, I think that's all I have to do) it runs fine. But as I drove it around the yard I noticed that it is hard to steer. The front tires seem like they are barely touching the ground! The handle bar moves fine and the wheels turn, but the tires don't grip the grass. When I lean forward as far as I can the tires actually bite into the grass and turn the bike. When I sit on the bike it just plows straight ahead. Has anyone seem anything like this? I wonder if the back tires are too small, causing the bike to lean backwards. Does anyone have the specs on what size tires I should have? Thanks for any help provided...

ok my friend keeps his quad at my house since he lives in town all i have to do is keep it maintained. so the other day we were riding and noticed it was getting harder to shift. now stupid question, i know where you put the motor oil in and thats good to go but is there trany fluid or any thing like that? if not where would i start in figuring out why its hard to shift. another thing is it wont idle right, tried adjusting the idle adjustment on it but just wont do it. think i need to get it apart and clean it up. also is there any thing else i need to do to keep this thing up and running?

The quad is 1986 suzuki lt230. i just put the timing chain back on it and set the timing using the manual and i tried to start it. it will sit there and turn over but wont start. i checked to see if getting spark which it is. (blue). at this stand point i dont know wat to try next. need all the help i can get right now. thanks
