2006 Lifan 250cc quad. Wiring diagram or manual needed

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to the forum.  I recently picked up a new project.  It's water cooled and is manual with a clutch.  The previous owner hacked up the wiring and made it pull start only.  The harness is old school.  I found a similar harness from the same year on ebay, but I really need a diagram or manual to make it compatible.  Any help would be appreciated.

Ok here's my progress: I got the engine to crank by hooking the starter up to a battery.  I also fixed the pull start (was missing an awl that they don't make anymore so I made one from some scrap metal). I've still got no spark.  The harness is mostly gone and it looks like it was wired to pull start but I'm not sure it's set up right.  I'd like to at least get it to spark and kick before I dig into replacing the whole harness.  Here are the wife's on my CDI: looks like 6 pins bit only 5 are used.  My stator has 2 plugs coming out.  3 yellow wires going to the rectifier and another plug with 1 yellow and 1 green.  I assume one of those is the pickup.  I don't know if this is in an AC or DC cdi.  I'm not sure if power should be coming from the rectifier to the cdi or if the power coming straight from the 2 pin stator wire is sufficient.  The only information I could find online about the cdi is that it looks like the same one used for old Suzuki GN250.  Any help on wiring this just to pull start and catch would be appreciated.

I was slightly off.  From the stator the two plugs are: 3 yellow and the other is one green, one orange.  It's an 18 point stator.  It looks like Lifan knocked off the old Suzuki GN250 engine.  It looks like this:

And the stator looks like this:

And the CDI looks like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/133833195486?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1iIOH9GtdSTeGZACCeBaWyw87&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=133833195486&targetid=1262375642056&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9029741&poi=&campaignid=12875707346&mkgroupid=127864788648&rlsatarget=pla-1262375642056&abcId=9300535&merchantid=112072569&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnoqLBhD4ARIsAL5JedI1RaZYga1YixeEOY-_HPB7-WXCVhS28V7Bj5Y__1kpU423u-CQRdsaAmetEALw_wcB&autorefresh=true

Any advice on how to wire this thing would be much appreciated.  I wouldn't mind replacing the whole harness, but I can't find a set with a stator that looks compatible.

So I've got a Hisun 550 that I was doing some work on that required removing the CVT and it's housing. Upon attempting to reinstall the clutch, sheaves, etc, I found that the belt no longer fits - it's far too wide. None of the parts have been replaced, they're all OEM. Exactly the same parts as what I took off a few weeks ago.
To be more specific, my belt is 1.25in wide, but the gap between the clutch and the primary sheave is only 7/8in wide. I'll include a few photos to explain.
Has anyone ever experienced such a bizarre problem? Any help at all would be appreciated, I've been stuck on this for a month. I'm open to just about any suggestion.

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!
