1990 Suzuki King quad BST31SS question

I’m trying to repair rodent hose damage to my  1990 king quad 250. Several hoses to the carb were destroyed. I’m going to replace them. The manual doesn’t provide a layout or description of what they do or where the hoses go. Does anyone know where I can find that info?

The manuals do normally have a diagram showing the hose and cable routeing. Are you looking in a genuine suzuki manual or something like Clymer/haines ?

Failing that, does it have a manual fuel tap or an automatic one controlled by vacuum ? How many hose fittings does it have on the carby ? Does it have any emission control systems on it ? Does the carby have a diaphragm on top, or does the throttle cable go straight into the top of the carby ?

Thanks for replying. Good question about the manual. It's a Clymer. The carb has 3 hoses I can see with a diaphragm on top. There is a small aluminum Mikuni component with 3 hoses attached. It's about 2.5x1.5x.5 inches. One hose goes to the fuel petcock, 1 to what I think is the engine vacuum and the other to the carb? The fuel pump maybe?

I'll see if I can find a genuine service manual. Do you know where to find one?

They have manuals in here, under "downloads". In my collection of manuals your year doesn't show a hose routeing plan, but in the later model manuals(which have the same systems) it does, so perhaps get a later model manual.

Ok, so I'm presuming your throttle cable goes to the left side of the carby. On that model there's one hose fitting on the left rear, that's the fuel pipe. The fuel pipe comes from the fuel pump which is under the front fender on the left side. The fuel pump has three hoses, one at the rear comes from the fuel tap, the front feeds fuel to the carbies left rear, and on the flat side facing the center of the bike there's a vacuum hose. That vacuum hose goes to the carby on the right front, but since you have a vacuum operated fuel tap it goes to the carby via a three way junction. The third junction goes to the fuel tap.  On the carby at the right rear there is a hose fitting, that's the carby vent pipe and it goes up under the range selector panel. At the end of that pipe it quite often has a three way junction fitting.. but nothing goes on the other two branches. I think it's just so it can't get blocked so easily.

There are two other model carbies that I know of so if that doesn't sound right let me know and I'll run through the other models.

All the hoses need to be thick walled. If you go to an auto shop they may sell you thin walled vacuum hose.. It doesn't do, ask for fuel hose of the size you need.

The small component you describe, it's either the fuel pump, or part of an emission control, but, if I'm reading your model number right you are in Africa ? And I doubt it has emission controls. If it's not the fuel pump, post a picture and we will see if we can identify it.

      VinDecoderz says it's a YFM350 (Moto4 350) trim YFM350ER
Is that a Big Bear? Or a Moto 4? Or are they the same thing?
I've google'd around for information, and was able to find a (czech board in english) that had a Yamaha service manual for the YFM350X series, LIT-11616-YM-37. The 'Warrior' type. I'm trying to get something more accurate. I'm not sure which manual I need. Pictures included in this post.
I'm also looking to get a wiring harness for it.

Starting this build thread to keep up with everything on my build and hope to motivate someone!

I picked up this 2008 Yamaha Big Bear 250 2 weeks ago. A guy that I hunt with parked it at the hunt club for a year or so before I asked him if he wanted to sell. He said " fill my feeder and throw some batteries in my cameras, and you can have it". Sounds like a deal to me!
I have attached some pictures of how it sat under a tarp in the woods and when I got it home and cleaned up a little.

      Gday all,

Been trying a couple different ways now to download a manual. Not sure what I am doing wrong but could someone walk me thru it?
I go to DL page and click on link
get a pop up for a PDfixer or something
close that and then hit download button and no go
tells me I have reached my limit but I have never DL anything ever.

Hello, im looking for some input on this situation i have. My 94 Mojave has no spark, and i have no idea what it is. Ive replaced/tested the magneto, the pickup coil, cdi, the ignition coil. Even the key and Killswitch. I haven't tested the harness its self, but i have tried another harness and still nothing. The only thing i can think of is the fly wheel itself. I have found a lot of metal shavings in the fly wheel and have cleaned it the best I could. But nothing happened afterwards. I am truly stumped here and hoping some of yous could shed some knowledge/ideas that could help get this thing to fire.

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

      All help is appreciated thanks
