Does anyone have any experience in converting a Honda ATC to 2 wheels? I've seen them called fat cat conversions or Honda hippos and they look like they could be a blast. I've got an atc 185 that I stole the (pretty much brand new aftermarket) rear end out of to put on a worn out 200m. Looking for opinions on mounting the rear end, if a mono-shock or two outside mounted shocks or no shocks at all. Or if anyone has ridden one and has an opinion if it's even worth doing?

Thank you

So you want to put a 185 rear end onto a 200m and them making a fat cat out of the 185. You will need a different swing arm that will take a wide tire, you will need to do some measuring and visit junkyards to find one that will work. As far as mounting shocks you will probably have to do some welding to make it work unless you find a swinger with shocks that will bolt right up.

The 185 rear has been in the 200 for a few years already. Was thinking of just welding something up for a swing arm. Seen some pictures of one's with a solid rear end, but if I'm going to do it I figure I might as well do it right. I figured using a pair of shock mounted outside the tire like an old style motorcycle would be easier, but I assume there is some reason why all motorcycles switched over to a center mounted mono shock at some point.

Ya, I'm thinking if I do it I'm going to run a bigger gear on the back and slow it down, can always gear it up afterwards if need be. Never actually looked up how fast that 185 would go stock, bought it because it was cheap and then shortly afterwards blew the splines on the rear end of my 200 so it became a parts machine. My only dirt bike experience is on Honda Monkey 50's and a couple of Honda Trails, none of which I rode for long as they were my brothers and he had a habit of selling things shortly after he bought them, always for more money than he paid though haha.

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?
