Hey everyone I'm hoping someone can help a guy out here!

I recently bought an Apache rlx400cc for pennies iknow it's Chinese but I thought it could do with a new life with such low mileage on it.

I serviced it and went to start it up to find the starter motor just spins? Is this a simple fix everything seems okay it has enough power to start the engine so not sure why it won't start however these bikes do have a pull start so it started straight away but after starting it a few times it started to slip when pulling I took the case of to find the teeth where broken on the receiver side the pawls are fine but I can't find a replacement anywhere as a matter of fact I can't even find out what it's called so I'm stuck!

If anyone can tell me what this is called please share with me.Screenshot_20230727-2029543.thumb.png.5b7cee762e72f295699406e9addc9cd3.png

I'd try to find the maker, which may be mentioned on a model tag on the frame somewhere, then do a search for info.. It may use some common chinese engine, possibly a copy of a jap engine.

Can't find a parts picture or complete list.

If you can find a vin or model id plate, take a photo and post it up..

On most bikes that pull start pulley fits onto a tiny spline..  I think I'd pull that part off and check the end of the crank before I chased up a part, and I'd check the starter gears too. Some of those cheap bikes are so badly made they break kick start shafts, and gearbox shafts, and just about any part that we would normally expect to last the bike out..

Once you had that part off, you could go to a bike wreckers if there is one around and ask if they recognise it.. Might be a copy of something.

Hi guys, I have a 2004 big bear 400. Last winter while plowing the driveway, I heard a loud pop from the left side of the engine. It continued to run as I looked for leaky fluid, but then died shortly after backing it up and won’t start now. The oil light comes on when I try to start it, no noise or anything else.
No blown fuses that I can find.
