Polaris sportsman not starting

I just went out to start my 2004 polaris sportsman 600 and nothing happened. It didnt have power to the dash and wouldn't turn over. I have no idea why, but it's not the battery because the winch still works. Can anyone help?

You should check the fuses..

Do you know where the fuses would be on it?

No I don't. They won't be hidden though. They will be easily accessible.

 The 2004 single cylinder engines have a Power Distribution Module that serves the same function as the fuses and relays. The PDM is located above and just forward of the radiator and looks like a silver box with fins on it.

I must be looking at the wrong wiring diagram. If you can't find the PCM on that bike, it might not have one..  Maybe...

If that is the case,  check for 12v on a red wire on the back of the ignition switch..

I just went through the same thing with my 2007 sportsman 700. Check for voltage at the key switch and if you have voltage coming in check to see if there is voltage leaving when you turn the key on. If you do then have a look at the kill switch to make sure its working. The contacts can corrode and not make a good contact and you won't have any voltage going through. If that is the case you can buy a new switch or try taking it apart and cleaning the contacts.
