Hey guys, Destin my son, raced in his first flat track race for this season last night. He rides a 96 LT80. I had to put him in the youth 85cc mod class because of the pipe and clutch work. There was only him and another kid in the class and the other kid happened to be on a Blaster, don't know why he was in there, but as you will read it didn't matter. The heat race he was beat but no to terribly bad, the blaster beat him by a few bike lengths and I was impressed by the 80 to say the least. When the main rolled around, I told Destin to mash the throttle as soon as the flag drops. He did that, got the hole shot, and that was all she wrote. He lead the whole race for 8 laps and pulled away from the other kid and wiining the race. He got a good size first place trophy and he and I was ecstatic as you will see by the video. The video is dark but you can tell them apart, Chris

Well while I was waiting for new parts for the choke, I decided to adjust the clutch. When I removed the lock nut, I found the guy I bought it from or someone else had stripped the threads on the adjustment rod. I couldn’t get the adjustment rod to turn without putting a pair of channel locks on the screw driver, this was telling me something was wrong. So now the rod pushes in and out and spins freely too freely. So guess I’ll have to take the clutch housing off to see what’s going on and replace the adjustment rod, it’s threads are beyond repair, and there is something going on with the adjustment rod. If there’s another way please let me know. The further I go the worse it gets. Thanks for any help.

Hi quad is up and running now, starts fine, revs and ticks over fine but when riding its bogging a bit. If your sat with engine running its fine but when you set off your having to rev it very slowly to go otherwise it drops its revs. And i mean very slowly, try rev normally and revs just drop off then when your going its bogging slightly. I have tried adjusting air screw but doesn't seem to make a difference. Any ideas. Seems like an air problem but not sure.

Anyone have bad experience with these clutch kits?  Looking to get one for an 80s quad that I have.

Picked up a barn find that someone had already partially disassembled because the “motor locked up” but they never opened the case. Everything was bagged and labeled, and as I’ve mentioned before- I love a challenge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After a couple hours of fun with various pullers and hammers I managed to persuade the magneto/flywheel to come off. Hoo boy what a mess. Then I found an actual rats nest in the clutch cover. ಠ_ಠ
