Yeah, just purchased a 86 atc 250r off ebay. All original. Got it for $1,325. Think it was a real good purchase. It is in my home town, so there is no travel at all to pick it up. Ill pry toss an extended swing arm on her. Other wise no big plans for mods. It has a new top end with an 1 hour on it.

I would recommend the newest one you can find, the different years aren't that much different. The '85-'86 motors have higher compression, especially the '85. In '87 they began using the long rod. Gearing changed a bit over the years also. All in all, the newer the motor the better as a newer motor will likely be in better condition and be easier to find parts for.

Hey guys, I have a 86 ltr250 I got for cheap. Runs an rides good but I'm not doing that any because it needs some love. Definatly lower on compression. I've owned a few two strokes but never have rebuilt top end on them. What is needed an or would a Manuel be best to go by being a newb to it? Lol. Also slight oil leak into stator cover so in gonna replace crank seal first. Oil is grey, is that my rings bad causing low compression an fuel to leak into the bottom end? Or is that the double lipped seal for clutch side? Idk if it's water or not, doesn't really smell like fuel either an I'm not losing any coolent. Help guys! It's much appreciated

as many might know, the years previous, California had drought conditions that allowed "bark beetles" to basically kill many evergreen trees.
here's an example of what they did:

Answer to your first question ...
YES, you can drive it anywhere.. on highways.. back roads... neighborhoods.. off road... ANYWHERE ITS LEGAL FOR CARS or 4-Wheelers !

This took a lot of work and effort with many divisions of the transportation dept. and through multiple attorneys advice.

This is one of only two 4 wheelers that are street legal in the U.S.A. (Excluding Montana, parts of Arizona, and New York).

      Now for the details.

Its a 1989 Harley Davidson Frame and Engine.

This bike has Super Swamper Vampire tires in some pics (THESE ARE NOT STREET LEGAL TIRES) and do not come with bike.

These are some 100% custom graphics and numbers we made for a TRX250R. We have a template for that quad, if anyone knows someone who wants custom graphics for their 250R, let me know.
We are currently making templates for other quads too.
