It’s A Quad, It’s A Boat, No Wait—It’s An Argo!

There is something in an off-roader’s soul that yearns for the freedom of crossing land without limits. An ATV satisfies this need by carrying us down trails with power and speed that we could never achieve on our own. Our desire to subdue nature is sated with a feeling of accomplishment when the combination of our skills and the capable bike under us prove sufficient to go over, around or through seemingly impossible obstacles. ATVs are like an i.v. of adrenaline when we are riding them on “terra firma”. But when we arrive at a body of water we are abruptly confronted with the limits of these machines, and the yearning to go continually onward wells up in us again.http://www.atvconnection.com/Features/Feature_Articles/Its-An-Argo.cfm

these have come a long way over the years ... i have seen some going 50+mph on land and going up to 15mph on water ... the newer 1's can also climb grades steeper than most quads can at very low speeds .... another 1 dug up by the post miner

    • adding power steering to Sportsman 450

Hi all, I bought a 2018 used 450 for my wife. She is having trouble with some of the real rocky trails close to our home. Her arms give out in an hour or two so I was thinking of adding power steering . Is this possible ? Anyone done this ?

    • Do You Use GPS For ATV Trails?

Does anyone use GPS, whether on a device or app to record their ATV trail rides? I have been thinking about a section where our members can upload let's say a .gpx file and share their rides on a google map for others to see where there are riding areas. Not sure if this is something of interest or how much it would be used, so just trying to get an idea. Importing routes from files like xml, lmx, tour, freshroute, gpx, kmz, kml

    • Michigan atv trails St Helen to Mio, and everwhere in between!

Good place to start out is at St Helen Mi. campground or Trails inn motel, both on the trail head across the street from one another, with all the amenities needed in town there for your stay like an atv parts dealership, gas. restaurants, liquor store, drug store, hardware all within a blocks distance away. From here you can head E. towards Houghton lake Mi. trail system or West to West branch or N. through Clear lake then onto city of Mio trail system. So many great places to check out along the way heading north fro there, like Clear Lake, with their Bar and grill, corner store, gas, lodging, Ambrose lk. atv campground near by, and with so many surrounding trails there too, with hill climbs! Then after leaving Clear lk. head up to wagon Wheel N. of Rose city rd. with dozens of trails scattering the hill side there called the Rose city oil fields. Then on up N. to the gravel pit for a little play time, before crossing M33 at the Pink store for gas and snacks. Leaving there to head up to Mio's Bull gap, either on the west side (shortest rout) or you can do the half Bull Gap trip through Mac lk. Campground heading  N. to Bull Gap or the long way around from the Pink store traveling on the 50 mile loop that passes Bull gap on its way back to the Pink store. Make sure you take along the printable Mi. DNR atv trail maps with you, to help guide the way, along with the other areas I just mentioned, maps.  If your looking for a friend to ride with and show the way with , over 50 nearer my age and interests, contact Email:  [email protected]   for more info. I'll be more than happy to ride with you!   Thanks Steve

The Hop-Up: You may be saying to yourself, “that’s a chick bike,” and you’re right. But honestly, it’s so much more than that. It’s one badass bike. http://www.quadmagazine.com/quad/features/article/0,24942,1587044,00.html

Feul pump went out. Replaced. At times quad cuts out like its not getting gas. Saw article on new pump needs to be calibrated. Told how to go into a service mode. Does not tell how to calibrate after going into mode. Can anyone shed light on this procedure.
