What is with the ATV's in the classifieds that are dirt cheap? Example, 2008 Can-Am 800 for $2900??? Last month there was a 09 Sportsman XP 850 for $3000. Both of these are offering free shipping!

Does anyone else find this a little fishy?

I would be leary of those ads that might be a scam. People post cheap prices all over the internet to scam people. I will take a a look at the ads in there...I haven't really in a while.

I would say you are correct...IMO, anything with Free Shipping on a Vehicle isnt legit....However,,,,,Some people just need to get out from under something and will offer it at what they owe or below Market just to get the cash or piss someone off...

For Example....I bought an 87 Corvette once for 100 Bucks...This Lady was going though a Divorce and had to split things down the middle....Just to piss her old man off she sold it for a C note and gave him Half.....

So there are several ways to look at it....But free Shipping I think is the Key to a Scam...

As MWKE said, you should be careful of ads that are under priced and involve free shipping. We do our best here to filter out negative ads and research ads that seem way below market value.

These are usually scams that can affect many sites. If you see someone selling a machine in great shape but way below market value...way below...it could be a scam.

You should always attempt to physically look at the machine if possible. If the seller does not allow that, and pushes towards shipping only...that should raise a red flag.

I'm trying to help a buddy out with his bike (he's not really on the internet or familiar with these forums) and I'll admit that I am not super familiar with the transmission and clutches in these bikes. I owned a Brute a few years ago, but never had an issue like this that I had to troubleshoot.
So basically my buddy bought a group lot of 650's to build one good bike out of. He got it all put together and has it running but when he pushes on the throttle the clutch doesn't engage till the RPM's are quite high and even when its moving it doesn't really speed up, almost seems like its in "limp mode". He's tried 2 different transmissions so I don't think that's the problem.
Is there any adjustment on the clutch engagement? Anything else I can tell him to look at? Let me know if you need anymore information if you think you can help.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.

I am new to this site. Now down to business, I have been given a Kawasaki 220, tires are trashed and it has been setting for a long time. Do I need a battery in it to find neutral? I know there is a neutral switch and if I shift down(7 times????)   then up one using the neutral switch I should be in Neutral. As you see I am in a learning curve here ......coments welcome.

Are the cheap tires from Amazon any good? I know nothing last forever, but don’t want them to dry rot in a year.
