I just bought this bike Monday off the showroom floor. It was a left over from last year. I only have 20 min of ride time on it. The bike shifts into first and through the higher gears w/out any trouble, but when I down shift the shifter will stay down.... It pops right back up if I tap the side of it with my boot. Does anyone know what's going on here? I was wondering if that oil seal that the shaft goes through may be binding it up, I wouldn't think that this brand new bike would have a bent shaft already. I called the dealership and thy said they couldn't get it in till mid august.

You go in there and start raising hell, They sold you a bike with problems and are going to make you wait to get it fixed. I would be sitting there with my bike and talking sh** about their shop to everyone

I saw at their place until they took care of it.

Like bot said, start raising hell. The last thing I would do is try and fix it myself. You bought a brand new quad, there is no reason you should be working on it. If they won't look at it now, then I woud go to the salesman and tell him you want to return it. I would not leave that dealership without getting what you want.

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cannot find out why 12 vdc  4 (4) commutator starter motor has no power. It will run full speed without load. But with any load will not turn. Repaired broken brush holder and insulated an internal wire to magnet that was bare and rubbing. cleaned commutator segments. Ohm readings while slowly rotating commutator was 1 ohm.   When attempting to run  with load it will not turn and Bat vdc only pulls down to12vdc. Cannot find an internal wiring schematic.  I can buy a rebuild kit ~$35 but WTH?

So I decided to pick up a small trailer if I could get one for the right price.  I found this one for a few hundred bucks on Craig’s list.  It is  a galvanized trailer which is exactly what I was looking for. The wood was shot and needed some minor repairs which I could care less about as long as the chassis was good.
I striped it down and put a new deck on. I had some vinyl realtree graphics that I had laying around so I added them to the fenders which I think worked out well. Very happy with this little guy.
I'm having the iron workers at my jobmake me up a few lightweight side rails that will have a 22 degree bend in them to accommodate the tires that slightly hang over the edge and will incorporate some tie down points as well.

I rebuilt the top end on my 2007 Honda Trx500fe. It ran fine right after the rebuilt. But now when I try to crank it it blows Bach through the carburetor. I held my hand over the opening for the intake air and it blew gas back on my hand. Can figure out what happened all of a sudden. It was cranking and was able to ride it running through all the gears. Now can get it to crank just blowing gas back to the air filter. Need help again. Starting to think I should have walked away from this one.
