Our family goes to Ga to ride difficult terrain (expert rocks and ledges- mountain trails). I have an 05 Arctic Cat 400 that is very light in the front end due to the gas tank being in the rear. It has overturned twice while carefully approaching 8-10" ledges. Others with different brand Atv's are not having the same problem. I love my arctic cat but find this intollerably dangerous. Any feedback? I am looking to purchase a Can Am and noticed that the tank appears to be somewhere in the rear also. Anyone with info about Can Am handling and weight distribution related to the tank would be greatly appreciated.:skeptic:

My buddy has a can am and his tank is near the back also. We dont ride on any trails like that but his is light in the front also. I'm not really sure what to tell you. Most atv's that i know of will be lighter in the front. JUst be careful until you get it figured out. I will ask my buddy about his and see what he thinks!

I can tell you that Can-am makes some of the best 4wd quads on the market IMO. As far as the tank placement, I don't think that Can-am would have engineered a quad that was more likely to roll backward on you, they have some pretty good engineers, if you look at the technology they use on their machines, you can see why I would say that. There are plenty of other great 4x4 quads out there also, all of the big Japanese manufacturers make good products too.

Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks

Good morning, I am new to the forum. I'm 75 years old and love getting ATVs back to usable condition. I particularly like the 2006-2009 Arctic Cat 250 Utility. I currently own 6. The 2006 I am working on only has reverse and low gear. The "drive shaft" in the transmission is completely stripped where the high gear would mesh. Has anyone on here replaced the shaft. I'm told I have to split the case. I was hoping that someone on here could let me know how hard it will be. I already have it stripped down to where the shaft coming in from the clutch side is the only thing left. I was hoping I could just remove the driven clutch and drive it out from there. Directions say different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.
