New Highland Quads

Highland was just getting started started when a Plane Crash in May killed all of their top executives. The company is slowly trying to regain themselves.

Do you have any idea what kind of price tags are going to be on these? They are old Cannondale frames that are gusseted(cannondale was the first race ready quad). The motors are from sweden and the suspension you get to choose what aftermarket shocks you want. These things are going to make KTM look affordable.

Ya, I've been following Highland in magazine articles for a while, they just got the ball rolling after a lot of hard work when the top guys were killed. But it's great that thier still pushing forward with the company. No I haven't heard anything about pricing yet, I think they want us hooked before they drop the bomb. A customer can order almost any option you could want, I really like the direction thier taking. But, obviously for the elite racer, and the wealthy. I could never justify the price, but it sure is nice to dream.

You better believe if I had the coins in my pocket I would be all over them.

For them claiming 75hp on the 450... I don't know. Maybe at the crank. I know that when Dasa builds a motor it ends up about 60hp at the wheels

If you hear anything new about them, let me know OK.

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!

Bucking started about a month ago and works ok after 1/2 hour warmup.  Today while working on it i discovered that if i put the ignition switch in LIGHT position it runs fine right from the start.
I'm stumped!  Any idea why this could be?

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.
