Sorry for the delayed response, a factory service manual is always the best IMO. Ebay usually is a good place to find manuals. Clymer makes a good manual too, and they are considerably less expensive than factory manuals too.

The first thing I would check is any external linkage or levers that you may have, hopefully your problem is there because the next most likely cause is a bent fork or maybe a worn or broken shift fork shaft. Repairing either one of those would involve splitting the cases. You have the right idea looking for a manual, they are priceless and well worth every penny. Good luck.

So I bought an 88 qaudracer real nice bike fired up 2-3 kick everytime. When I bought it the brake calipers were not on the bike the guy gave them to me In a box with parts to rebuild. So I HAVnt ever really rode the bike except a quick run testing gears when I bought and I started it and drove in yard not getting out of 3rd due to no brakes. I put it in garage turned it off. The following weekend I put brakes on and go to kick it and it’s seized. I did put it in high gear and rocked it back and forth and got it to kick a couple times. But has seized back up. Any ideas??? Could it be a kicker malfunction??

I loosened the allen bolts on the carrier and when I went to put my driver in the alot to pull back and tighten the chain, I noticed the holes were facing the front of the bike. I tried to slide a driver in and tighten the chain but the thing would not budge. I nearly ripped the tip off the driver in the slot. Any suggestions?

I cleaned my carb on my 160 1991 and then was using it for some mud. And when ever i would go full throttle it would jam open. I would have to kill it then push the arm of the throttle cable back into the carb. I would then be back in business. But i had it happen one more last time. I killed and was gonna try to push the cable back in but it was jammed. I took the carb apart and had to use a freakin screw drive to push the the needle out. The cable also got stretched some how so i cut the end off, took a bolt of the same size, cut the end off and used that as a new end for the cable. I kept is on by wrapping a wire around the cable and then soldering it. The shaft/sleeve thingy was full of dirt and mud so i sprayed carb cleaner in there and clean the sleeve and needle clean. I reinstalled the carb and everything and now the needle will not move...why wont it move??
