I have a 350 honda rancher es 2000 and i am stuck in 5th gear my downshift wont work and the emergency shifter that came with it will not shift it either so of course if its not in (n) you cannot start it does anyone have any suggestions before we have to take it to a honda dealer? Help!!

thanks for replying but no i cannot start it holding the handbrake in so i am kinda lost and do not know what else to try, all the rocking back and forth will not change gears, the emergency shifter got me up to 5th gear unfortunately but not back down to (n) thanks

you are having a problem with the shift noid on it ... i have 1 and hate it ... we took a long rod and made a shifting arm and put it in the shaft for emergency shifting .. now we hand shift it .. you might have to take the shift noid off and clean it to get it to work ... they are expensive to replace but that usually the problem ...

      I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
      Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
      The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
      The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

      Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks

      Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage

      Hey guys i recently got a old recon 250 up and going and the prev owners had the carb screws all messed up. i was wondering if anyone can give me the basic run downs on if i turn both screws all the way "tightened" how many turns out will the quad run okay so i can then dial it in. the prev owner had the screws messed up so bad it woudnt idle. i got it to idle but idles rough. its super lean any guidence is appreciated
