1991 big bear rear disc brake

i took apart the rear disc brake (cover,disc,caliper,pads) and when i was putting it all back together, i noticed the disc on the spline was not secured by a lock ring or anything. i looked at schematics and there is nothing holding that disc on. is this right? seems like a poor design to me ....

I believe it's held in place by press or tight fit and a collar or step built into the axle. with axle nuts on opposite side to tighten whole assy,

thanks for the info. i went to see a yamaha mechanic and he said the same thing, just tight fit, he recommended putting grease or lube on the spline after it was clean for a snugger fit. just that easy ... LOL
