HI

I have a Raptor 660 2003.. I'm having a problem of the engine staling out when i Ride it.. I turn it on and it sounds fine now when I take it out and rev it up it starts choking and starts dieing on me...It doesn't do this all the time. I got to ride it for five mins then it starts to choke.. the carb has been rebuilt about 6 months ago....is there a oil pressure switch on this model?? Thanks for your help..

I can't really tell. I would think its starving for fuel..But It starts right back up once it dies.. I was thinking it was the stater. Isn't that where it gets its timing? My friend told me its computer timed which i don't know...

stator controls power, cdi delivers the energy, coil makes the spark if stator is good, carb just delivers the fuel .... hard to say whats going on with your engine, you know? maybe you need a bigger jet, leaving it idle, it might just fill the bowl again to give it enough gas

Sounds like the carb and the floats or fuel line going into the tank. Pull the line off and make sure you have a good flow to the carb. Turn petcock on and off to see. also check the floats when the slide up to the top that they are not sticking at the top and not letting fuel back in to the float bowl.

i see you had the same type of problem a year ago, when it was stored over the winter, did you empty the tank or put stabilizer in it? are you running this with the old gas still in it? if you are, i would dump the old gas and put in fresh, and a new spark plug. JMO

The problem i had last year was a little different. THe gas is not old. I fixed it a year ago the carb was rebuilt and was running good every sense until a couple of months.. I already changed the spark plug. Also made sure there was oil getting to the cam and valves at top...Now it does burn oil. But sometimes the quad will work for about a hour then start choking. Thinking its electric now what i dont know is if the timing is off i dont know how to check that.

pop your plug out when its cold and turn it over and look at the spark. then ride it for that hour and do the same thing with the plug. if the colo(u)r is weaker, you have a bad coil. timing might still be good, carb is good, valve seals might need changing if alot of oil, but if not, just make sure you check your oil when you go out to ride ...

I recently purchased a raptor 80 for my grandson for  christmas. I am trying to make sure it is running properly. i have rebuilt the carb and adjusted the carb idle then the mixture to middle of where it runs rough and it runs great for about a min or 2. then it stalls out. I can usually choke it and it will start so i feel it is lacking fuel. the fuel shutoff valve has been changed and i checked it for good fuel flow.  any ideas of what to check next. I am planning to vfy fuel float height tomorrow. I visually checked it by turning carb upside down when i had it apart and it looked level. any ideas are appreciated.

      Thanks.

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hisun 700 EFI. Replaced TMAP sensor had broken off . Fuel pump pressure 41psi. The only way I can keep it running (and runs fine) is to close off fuel return line.

This thing came with a cheap aftermarket carb on it the problem I'm having is it won't start with choke installed into carburetor it will start and get run without it installed then bogs out after about 2 min run time I've checked timing , compression, checked valves for proper clearance , also did a smoke test for air leaks found none.

I picked up this ATV that had no spark. The previous owner said he was driving it and it died and would not start. He discovered it had no spark. He replaced the CDI and the coil with no luck. He got tired of it and I bought it. I replaced the stater and now it has strong spark. Now, it starts for a second or two then dies. It will not stay running. I have checked the timing and it is spot on. The valves are adjusted correctly. I see no warn issues with the cam. I put the original CDI and coil back on it. Same problem exists. Compression is at 65 psi (has decompression mechanism),
I took off the muffler in case the issue was clogged pipes. No change. I replaced the spark plug. No change. The carb was an aftermarket so I put a Niche carb on with no change. I bypassed the fuel pump and that did nothing to solve the problem.
I don't know if this is a carb issue or an ignition issue. I am looking around locally for an OEM carb to try out but not sure that will fix the problem.
Can anyone help me solve this problem. I am running out of ideas.
      Thank you for your time
      Bill
